Is there any reason that Kahuna grips wouldn't work on a 2013 Ultra CVO? I want them wired internally. I know I would have to cut the ends off the factory grips and solder them on. The original grips that came on the bike are about twice as much money as an accessory pair.
For some reason the OEM CVO grips have an extra orange/white wire?

I'd check out heat demons
https://www.symtec-inc.com/products/heated-grips/
The heat pad goes inside of the bars, so you can get any grips you want and not have to pay the HD stupid cost for grips. I'd have done too, but because of the ring above the controls on a Road Glide, Symtec does not make then for Road Glides last time I checked.
They do make a heated seat pad for seat which costs about $125 and installation looks pretty simple, beats $900 for HD heated seat.

I had heat demons on one of my bikes, but they aren't made for our cold climate. It takes a long time for them to get luke warm.
I ended up buying a pair of Willy G grips. I'm going to have to grind them a bit to hide the wires. The Kahuna grips are on backorder.

I added a set of Kahuna Heated Grips to my bike awhile back and they are the best I've ever had. I've had Heat Demon's as well and find that they are a nice alternative but they are just that.
Good luck with your project!

I had Kahuna heated grips added to my 19 CVORG at delivery, they work great.
