Having Hillside do the 128 Big bore kit on my CVO RG.. Scott Palmer is a very Knowledgeable builder and I feel very confident he will build me a Beast... Here is what is being done... 128 big bore kit, Stage 2 cylinder head work, SS 550 cam,new clutch basket, Aim SDR clutch,Lifters, pushrods, Valve springs, SS oil pump and cam plate. I’m sure I’m forgetting things he also mentioned doing... I will post parts list and Dyno results when completed.. I’m really looking forward to riding this bike... Stay tuned for the Results... I’m hoping for 145-150 HP and the same for torque.. The most important is a nice smooth line with lots of torque..

Good choice !  Lots of happy customers makin lots of power.   Sounds like it's gonna be a stump puller.   Keep us posted on the build and the results.    :2vrolijk_21:

What head pipe and mufflers you going to run?  Are they done yet?  Would love to see how the torque curve came out.

do not use those injectors just get the 5.5 screamin eagle. the daytona 6.2 are for a LS motor and has a different spry pattern. save your money on the AIM lockup dont need it. just get a rekluse clutch fibers and disc. get S&S 605 springs installed and use the woods 408 cam.  i also have the revolution performance 128 on my 19 cvo rg. with the 11.3-1 compression you can go with a little hotter of a cam. you wont regret it. also a good 2-1 with a ghost pipe will provide the best power.

What head pipe and mufflers you going to run?  Are they done yet?  Would love to see how the torque curve came out.
. Unfortunately my bike has just been sitting on the lift for the last 23 days now!!! Only part that is holding up the build is the 5.5 injectors ordered through H-D!!! Guess they are having all kinds of computer issues and lots of orders got messed up!!! I was supposed to go to Daytona for Christmas to visit my father and go riding with him, unfortunately it’s not happening because of H-D delays.... I’m running The fuel Moto header and have the 2.25 Fullsac baffles installed in the stock pipes, I will look at the Dyno numbers and more specifically the Curves and see if I have to do something different with the exhaust system!!!! Can’t make any decisions without my bike!!! Just CRAZY I’m still waiting... Hillside and Scott have been very good with me so far and always answer and returns all my questions, I’m sure he is frustrated with the H-D screw up too!!! Hopefully soon I will be able to post a parts list and dyno results....

The last 124 M8 I did with 5.5 injectors hit 91% duty cycle making 144 HP. I think the plan with the 6.2s was spot on.

Have a similar bike going through the paces now. We went to a Daytona Twin Tec 7.0 injector

When you stop and think, it's amazing we can double the Horsepower of a Harley with only adding bigger injectors to the fuel system. Never even think about upgrading the stock fuel pump, filter, pick up and supply lines. The factory system has left us a lot of room to grow. If we were doubling the HP in a car we would be replacing everything starting at the fuel pick up in the tank.

SG Steve, So your thoughts on my build I could have went with the 6.2 injector over the 5.5? Thanks for ALL your input!!! I follow lots of your post here and on other H-D forums, I definitely trust your Judgment bye following your thoughts and opinions on builds.

The last 124 M8 I did with 5.5 injectors hit 91% duty cycle making 144 HP. I think the plan with the 6.2s was spot on.

SG. Could you please explain what 91% duty cycle means? I’m guessing it means they weren’t efficient enough? Or am I totally off base? Thanks for your help and explaining.... Scott

Duty cycle on an injector is real easy to understand. At 100% duty cycle they are maxed out on the fuel they can provide. Rule of thumb on a performance build is to never exceed 85%. This leaves a safety margin. Many tuning software program's (TTS for one example) will show a red flag and give a warning when you exceed 85% while tuning. Stock Harley's run about 70% duty cycle. This leaves us quite a bit of room to grow but there is a limit. Myself, knowing your heading north of 140HP with your build, I would suggest the 6.2 injectors just to be on the safe side. No harm in going a little bigger than you need in a performance application. Too small and you will have your dyno tuner breaking out in a sweat.

. Funny you asked!!! I got a call on Thursday afternoon, My bike was making 140 HP and 156 Torque, Problem he is having is I’m losing 10 FT pounds of torque in the 3500 RPM range, He tried everything he could to try and remove the dip tuning with my PV... He asked me if I would let him tune using the Direct tune method, He says there is definitely more to get out of the motor and he said he will clean up the 3500 RPM dip using this method.... I should hear back from him on Monday and pick my bike up early next week... I definitely will be posting the entire parts list and the dyno graph.... I also thought I read somewhere these 550 cams can be hard to tune??? BUT 156 Torque already!!! CANT wait!!!! I possibly could see 142-145HP and around 160 Torque when completed.... You will be the first person on here I show the Dyno graph too... SOON my friend 😎

Waiting to have it also put on the Dyno in SAE readings... I don’t want people to think I’m up to something posting them on Just one Dyno.. I will post both sheets when completed my friend.. The line looks perfect, Around 157 Torque at 3500 RPM... So in SAE it might say 150-153?? I’m happy either way, Just don’t want to try to defend my build with just 1 Dyno run... Soon my friend.... Hopefully everyone understands my point.. I have seen already on another post about my bike someone saying... Just go to their site, The builders and read their crayon charts, kinda really uncalled for in my world.... I’m just trying to have fun and enjoy this site....

Agreed. The charts HD show do look like crayon drawings.

I too agree and they way they are formatted they are not user friendly from HD.  Good shops dyno charts are more informative and easier to read.

Another factor is the vintage of the Dyno. The first Dynojet 100-200 series notoriously read higher than the latest models with Winpep 8 software. 250I with winpep 7 or 5 seem to be the samples used for compassion. Winpep 6 and before on an earlier Dynojet can be as much as 10% low.

Another factor is the vintage of the Dyno. The first Dynojet 100-200 series notoriously read higher than the latest models with Winpep 8 software. 250I with winpep 7 or 5 seem to be the samples used for compassion. Winpep 6 and before on an earlier Dynojet can be as much as 10% low.

So funny how dyno charts from who TF knows where have become documented facts used for arguable comparison. If your doing actual testing, data from the same dyno with the same operator is comparable and nothing else. Data from various dyno rooms is for entertainment, marketing and talking smack. And that's why we are all here. lol..  8)

True but I have to say I've been surprised on how close 3 different dynos have been on my 2010 CVO 110 (Hillside heads). Each time I was making upgrades and then tuning,  so the baseline could be compared to the previous upgrade dyno from the other shop. They were never more than 2-3hp different which could easily be a matter of the humidity on that day, not the dyno.

The only controlled standards are the correction method.
From there it is a Dynojet WAG full of inconsistency. There is not even a direct correlation to flywheel horsepower.
I wish shops could run these on a water brake first.

I agree that a proper kit that is tuned correctly should be showing very close numbers one to the next . I have had our bikes on several local and all where very close one place I had to laugh .
SF drum and it showed +10/12  But if you take out the DJ correction and run SF correction it was very close . SF allows you to use what ever you want .

UPDATE!!! Bike was finished but I decided to make a change before I pick it up.... I talked with Scott at Hillside and we both agree that the build could use more air, I had the build done and tried leaving the stock Air cleaner on because I really like the look of the OEM setup.. I decided to go with the FM Ventilator kit they make for Big bore kits!!!! Of course it sits at Hillside waiting for the stock cover to arrive from H-D Grrrrrr... Hopefully it shows up this week and I can go pick up my bike.. I’m patiently waiting to head to Daytona to visit my Father and test out the new build.. I also will be having it Dyno tuned again in Florida just to have 2-3 different maps before I post up my build list and Dyno charts...Love this forum and I really enjoy the different conversations on it..
