Anyone ever use this product for the saddle bag lids? http://www.xpel.com/
High end cars, BMW.... Mercedes... Porsche.... Audi.... etc. use successfully here on Long Island. I even have an installer I'm very friendly with and he does great work.
My concern is accidentally hitting the top of the bags while swinging my foot over the top. I'm careful but you know.... Sh*t happens.

Not familiar with this product but I do use one similar. Works great on keeping the scuffs off the lids. I have a BSR quite a bit and it's good piece of mind.

Can you share the product you use? Don't know what other options are out there.

because you asked about a specific product. I use the Motorcycle Armor. I see you posted in a thread about it that I had posted in the other day.

That's why I asked. How do you like the Motorcycle Armor, installation effort, results, protection, appearance?
The Xpel is a custom install and more expensive.

You have to look for it on the lids to see it. If you're staring at my bike that close, we may have a problem as it's pretty much stock. lol
Installation was easy enough. Just take your time and don't be in a hurry. Follow the directions. If you've ever seen someone that tints windows for a living work, it's the same principle. Get it wet, get it wet and get it wet,,,, lay it on, get it wet, squeegee, repeat.
Protection is great. I've very glad I did it.

If you're not sure if you want to tackle it yourself, check around any shop that tint windows and see what those guys would charge to install it for you. I don't have any pix to show you and I can't move my bike out in the sun to get pix right now due to recently having surgery.

I had Xpel on my 2014 corvette and I'm not a fan. It's doesn't wrap well around sharp edges and begins to peel back after any dirt gets under it. Saddlebag lids have compound, 90 degree angles. Don't think you'll be too happy with it.

If you have a local hi-end sign shop they have the stuff on rolls. Local one here (Trim Design) will go outside and make a pattern and cut them for you for less than half what the on-line companies charge.
But IMHO it looks like crap, I don't care who you buy it from after awhile the Edges start to attract dust or peel, nothing wrong with the product when this starts, just a way of life.

I happen to have a good friend that owns a company that only does this type of work and only on ultra high end cars from Ferrari to Porsche to Lamborghini. I am more than confident after seeing his work on cars that cost upwards of half million that he can do this minor job to make it look perfect. Look up Joeyclearbra.

I have two cars that I have the whole front end wrapped in Xpel Ultimate. The stuff is excellent. If yours is peeling or looks bad, you had the wrong guy put it on. Mine looks good on both cars and each has been through two PA winters.

To each his own, I think it looks cheap, Just won't hold up in the sun and heat. Doing high end cars, that are seldom if ever driven is not, to me, a good comparison.
Hopefully we ride our bikes and park in the sun, often.
Once again to each his own, but the cost of this stuff at times.. you could repaint a saddlebag lid if you ever needed to.

Looked into Xpel and talked with our local installer, no pre-cut kits available but said he could cut and install.
Asked if he knew about "Hog Skins" (which he didn't) but offered to install should I purchase.
Considering their product as a option, but contacting to learn more about what they offer.

Might be a option to look at?

Had xpel installed on my 2015 cvo roadglide. Proform has the templates, not many shops do bikes because it is time consuming. Installer recommended a paint sealant, I 'll post product later. Cheers
