My husband and my XM gets great reception unless we are riding where there is very thick overhead foliage or sometimes we may dip into a holler in the mountains for a couple of seconds, but if it happens a couple of times and you think of switching to a CD or something, then it comes back strong for hours. I think I have actually switched from XM only once in the last two plus years.  As long as we can "see" sky, so can the XM antenna.  We love it so much that now it is in the Truck, the Mustang, the Murano, husband's Mom's house and of course both SEEGs.  If you have a bad part, figure out which part and get a replacement. These are almost free now, just the monthly service and for every new service you add, it gets less and less.  We are paying for six services - it is not because it sucks.

Same problem on my 06 cuse. I hate the thing, It constantly drops signals even in the middle of the desert. If I wasn't so lazy I'd cancel the subscription. I just use my I-pod. Dealer relpaced the radio, xm module and antenna with no help.

Well, it does get curiouser and curiouser that some folks get great reception and others horrible.  All over the nation.  It really seems like it has got to be hardware related.

Obviously, we have reached a conclusion that nobody is paying any attention to...namely that Red Bikes are not only faster, they are obviously built of some material that allows the flux capacitor inside the XM radio to better transition the fairing material into it's semi-transluscent state, allowing better reception from the Borg transmitting stations orbiting our Earth.  Have you not heard the subliminal messages on channel 46?

SD...next time you have the fairing off, unstick the thing and sit it on top of the leather dash while you've got the bike outside.  The difference is amazing.

Wow, I have received so much information in just 2 days from all of you ... it seems that the solution to my problem to improve the XM reception is to take my $35k 2007 SEUC, purchase a can of RED rustoleum, and just spray the bike RED...then I will have great XM reception! Thank you everyone! Actually, the bike is at the dealer now ... I will pick it up on Friday and let you know what they did and if it worked.

Ed, with all this BSing going on, no one actually welcomed you. All of these wise A$$es should be on secret probation! Which dealer are you going to? Where in NC are you?

This thread has not been hijacked.  Or Lojakked.  It is instead now a post apocolyptic post nuclear environment inhabited by trolls and four year olds.  I am (proudly) one of the four year olds.  I am also naked beneath my clothes.
Thanks alot Don, now I have to slaughter a pig to get that image out of my mind. :P
