Just got done with the free promo from Harley and XM.I am very glad I did not use a credit card to
activate this free deal. I just got a statement from XM for $40.85. XM is telling me that it was my
responsibility to call them after the initial free trial was over to de-activate. So they decided to
extend the service without asking me. I mentioned that Harley should have picked up the tab for
the trial period. Still not sure if they got the message. After all said and done (at least over the
phone). They still think I owe them $5.00. So for me it was not a trial or free.

When I got the bill in for the next 3 months on mine I just called and had em switch it over to my existing XM account, girl was real nice about it.

I went with the 3 year plan with XM Radio
The 3 year deal seemed like it was the best value $9.99 a month
Cost for 3 years was $359.64

This is interesting, I activited mine in the middle of Sept. and haven't gotton a bill yet???  From what you guys are saying I need to check on mine before I owe them several hundred dollars.

And the cheapest way to get XM is have it put on a friends account so u only have to pay 6.99 a month. I have two radio. One in my truck which I bought the three year deal. Then the one on my bike. Also have three friends at work on my account so they only pay 6.99 a month. They each pay me 100 a year so it really cost them 8.33 a month, which is better than 13.00 a month. XM bills me ever three month, 83.88 and that's for 4 radio's at 6.99 a month....Also with your account you can get XM radio thur your computer. So in the end it cost me 3.00 a month for my second radio.

Just had the same thought Lug.  Went online to look up the billing history for the recent XM add to the red bike.  The "activation fee" was $14.95.  Since it costs $7.00 to keep it (as a second receiver) than being off for more than two months makes it pay for itself.  If he's only got five months of riding a season then it makes sense to turn it on and off  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

That was the plan. I just paid $499.00 for lifetime on the Sirius in the Ford truck.Would have liked that for the XM.

Which do you like better for programming and dependability: Sirius or XM

Difference is the sports packages XM has MLB, Sirius has NFL,NBA,NHL and Howard. Stern that is not Cosell. And I believe MLB is moving to Sirius in 07.

Today was the first day I've riden since mine got out of the shop. The radio was replaced so I called XM and was told that my free trial period was over and they had cut me off. Seems like there's consistance way that XM handles accounts.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Programming is good on both. Dependability is better with Sirius. I will say I only tried xm for a

few weeks. Some folks here had antenna issues maybe my xm antenna needs adjustment. So far

I vote for XM.

XM has much better programming and most channels are going to a jock-less format. This enables XM to serve the cable tv markets as well as music on hold and in-house (office building) music.

I would advise against any long term commitments with Sirius...they may not be around too long.
