I have bought 5 new harleys in the Denver area since 1986 from 5 different dealers. I would say none of these dealers work on customer retention!
I would have to agree, BUT, My experiance at High Country Harley in Fredrick seems to have been the exception. They are not giving away the store, but offer a reasonable 10% discount on all motorclothes and parts and labor puchased with a new bike. They are MSRP plus the shipping and prep fee. (They tell you up front, not at the contract signing) To compensate, they give the 5oo mile service at no charge. I was introduced to Scott (The owner) and he took the time to chat with me and thanked me for my business) I couldn't be happier with the service I have received. Again, not alot of free giveaways or "hooks" to get you in, just good customer service at a "fair" price. IMHO

Another, hopefully final, delay!  Ship date was updated this week from 3-30-06 back to 4-7-06. I don't know if I can afford waiting as I keep reading this site and finding numerous ways to spend more money!  I asked dealer if they would match a discount on the 6 speed transmission and was told as a matter of factly that the owner doesn't do discounts even if it means he will lose parts sales.   [smiley=confused5.gif]

My Haze was scheduled to ship on 3/27.  Checked with the dealer today and was told it's status was "In transit".  Now I'm really getting anxious.

I guess that makes three of us that may be pushed back. My ship date was 03/30 also. My dealer told me yesterday that he hadn't received his "update download" yet and that he would call me today. He seemed surprised that with a ship date of 03/30 that he did not have a VIN in the system yet. Maybe that is due to the delay. I can see you both are waiting on a haze bike also.

Rick, I feel your pain ... the wait is tough but if you're like me when I saw "Sweetie" for the 1st time you'll have this warm rush all over your body and a lump in your throat. Enjoy that feeling ... doesn't happen all that often (at least to me).  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Thanks Jay, I can't wait. (Neither can my co-workers :-X) I also contacted Bengys in W.V. and they were able to beat the dealers price on the extended warranty by over $400.
Rick

Good for you on the extended warranty deal! Lemme see.... what kinda chrome can all the site brothers and sisters recommend for $400???  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

You say your coworkers are anxious to see it as well? IDEA.... start a pool as to when it will arrive, give the winner half and you take the other half and buy even more chrome.

Hey FireD00d... how do ya like that idea for bling funding??  ;)

I know we're all anxious to get our new scooters.  I just called my dealership and the salesman told me he checked on mine this morning and it's still showing a 4/4 ship date.  I've got my fingers crossed.

There is a new Haze in Big D. Shipped on the 21st, one day late.  It arrived this morning.  Went by and stared at it for a few minutes this afternoon.  Looks pretty good.  Should be ready to pick up tomorrow afternoon.   Taking it as it came out of the box.  No discount from dealer on parts.  I can buy and install parts for less. Supposed to be raining, so might postpone until Firday.

I know some of you guys have waited a lot longer than I have, but hang it there.  I appreciate the positve words last week, when I was losing faith.

This site is AWSOME.

Thanks, Jeff.  I am definately smiling.  Got to get some miles on it.  We are heading south next weekend to look for Bluebonnets, a wild flower, and eat some pie.  A ride that we have done with about 40 of our closest riding buddies.

I never got a call back from the dealer yesterday, I don't think he is dodging my calls >:(. Then again, just because I am paranoid, doesn't mean that they AREN'T out to get me?

I am hoping no news is good news. (Hmmmmmmmm??) [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
