Have about 150+ rounds through my new little S&W Bodyguard 380

I like it. For a small pocket gun it is fairly easy to control and get right back on target for follow ups. Compared to my son's Kel-Tec compact 9, I'll take the S&W any day.
Even though it is equipped with a "built in" laser, I found the sights to be very accurate. Almost easier then using the laser.

As a side note, my son found an issue with the Kel. He had the grip extension on the mag and the downward force created by the small grip and the fingers wrapped around it, and the action of the slide was causing the mag to release. Not drop, just release enough to not chamber the next round.

In Jersey we can "own" hollow points, but can't carry them or use them (even in your own home) So, for the home defense purpose I will be using one of the defense rounds, basically a hollow point with a polymer ball seated in the nose.

#1 son told me his department testing has shown the smaller rounds with the poly tipped hollows are actually better then true hollow points, as they don't clog with heavy clothing.

My research came to the same conclusion...

Just got this yesterday. Kimber CDP ll Ultra 45. Ordered it Dec 4th. Found another one the end of Dec so since I didn't put any money down, I assumed I could turn it down when it arrived at the dealer....Wrong, now I own two. Not sure if I will keep this one or sell it.

My first Kimber. The handles are a lighter rosewood than the new pistol

Got 3 Kimbers not sure why anyone would care one for concealed. The ultra cdp is a handful. I'm going to sell it and the covert II. Love the look and the gun but it takes to long to get back on target. Then there is that whole one in the pipe and hammer cocked thing. I guess if I used it every day I would get better but grabbing it in a hurry......

Mine is just over 4 years old, over 3500 rounds though it.  It was my Every Day Carry until I got a Les Bear Stinger last spring.  Now I alternate, with the Kimber getting more warm weather duty as it is an 1 1/4 shorter barrel, the bear gets cooler weather duty.

I use Milt Sparks VMII in the waist band tuckable holsters for them.

The Ultra CDP is a great shooting gun, nice and light for carry.

Cary it condition 1, one in the barrel, cocked and locked at all times.

Not in NYC, no way no how, unless you're a cop. Damn near impossible to get pistol permits anymore. :nixweiss:
