It appears to be two models of the gun above.
One is the regular and the other is MA compliant.
What is the difference between those two?

Springfield XD-S 45.  Come big or stay home.

Chip, as others have stated the HK45C and Springfield XDS 45 are great carry guns but if you're stuck on a wheel gun check out the S&W 340PD.  Barrel length is the same as the Bodyguard but overall length is shorter and it's THREE ounces lighter.  Frame is made of scandium alloy and cylinder is titanium alloy.  Fiber optic sight.

I was looking at this gun for my wife.  I have fired that gun both with .38 and .357's.  The .38's kicked like a b**tch and the .357 was down right painful.  While it would be a nice gun to carry, I would not want to practice with it.

I ended up getting my wife an .40 Cal XD/M.  If Springfield comes out with a .40 Cal XD/S, I would end up with that.  The autos are nice as it absorbs the recoil.

Doesn't MA also have to have a loaded chamber indicator?

When riding I have a HK Compact 45 USP on the hip.  Concealed, I carry a Colt Mustang 380.

I think the H&K is the finest handgun I have ever fired.  I had a P30 and I loved it, but the handle was too long for carry and the gun was heavy with a full clip, I ended up trading it in on the S&W Shield for carry purposes.

not sure

I thought that was what made a MA compliant gun(necessary if made after certain date, might've had to show color on indicator), I could be wrong. Just thought I read it somewhere, didn't stick because I don't reside there. I know Glock is buying back a lot of gov't issued 9mm's so they can upgrade to .40 at a deep discount. Glock was intending to polish up the 9's and sell them in states they were not allowed to before. These older gen 3's were made before whatever date and only required chamber indicator which all glocks have, just not painted red or orange or whatever the magical safe color is.

Yes but not too sure how that'd work out on a revolver. :-)

True.  The HK can be a bit heavy.
