Totally agree. I can shoot my 5" Springfield Loaded or my 4.25" R1 all day long without issue. The XDs gets a mag or two for proficiency and that's it.
I find that I just don't enjoy shooting .40 much anymore. I've got a SigPro 2022 that's a great shooter, but the round itself just does nothing for me.
My wife loves 9mm, so I'll probably always have a safe full of various platforms, but for me, I'm plenty happy with good 'ol .45ACP.
How's that 5.7 handle?
Sent from my iPad, probably while I'm pooping.
The 5.7 is just plain fun to shoot. Very accurate, recoil similar to a 22LR pistol. Small round really with lots of powder behind it. The highest muzzle velocity of any pistol, 2130 feet per second. It has round available to the military and LE that will penetrate Kevlar vests, double stacked at 100 yards. It has a very flat trajectory. The anti gun folks just hate the pistol and call it a cop killer. Took me a long time to spend the money as it is and expensive plastic gun. Got it when my local gun store had it on sale for 995, and FN was offering a 250 rebate to Military. I really do love to shoot the gun so does my wife, very accurate.
My 5" Ed Browns are a blast to shoot, and in them you can shoot the 230 grain 45 acp all day long. My Les Baer Stinger, 4" barrel with officer grips it easy to shoot too. Its my winter carry. My summer carry is my Kimber CDP II Ultra which is a 3" barrel and officer grips.
