NJ is one state that does not care about that law!  More than one case the NRA has fought NJ this, NRA wins.  However the gun owner spent days in Jail, took years to get gun back, and cost many thousands of dollars.

States I avoid like the Plague are NJ, NY, CT, RI and MA.  Seems they do not know what the second amendment is.  NJ is the worst.  IL, OR and CA are the only other states than those in New England that do not honor my permit.

You can add maryland to that list.

I am in the very preliminary stages of considering a trip to florida with the harley via the Autotrain. Does anyone know if I can take my firearm if properly packed in my luggage?
For sure I will inquire with Autotrain when I am ready...just wondering if anyone has traveled that way with their firearm.

As many have already posted, you will be at risk traveling down I-95 through Maryland, DC And part of Virginia to get to Lorton where the Auto Train Loads up.

I sincerely doubt that anyone who loads up the vehicles on the train will go through your stuff packed on the bike especially if your hard bag is locked. I wouldn't be "packing" on the train or keep it in your luggage.

I have considered using the Auto Train in reverse from Sanford Florida to Lorton Virginia and would be interested in your trip report.

Picked up my first handgun this past weekend and will be taking CCW classes within the next month or two. Local gun show was going on and I was looking for something to carry. Ended up with a SCCY (Pronounced Sky) cpx2 (9mm). Fits great and well made in Daytona Beach, Fla. Also comes with a lifetime warranty no matter how many times the gun gets sold. Up and coming weapon in popularity due to construction, warranty and price (around $300 for now). Grabbed this pix off the net so photo credit goes to the site that posted it. Have only run 70 rounds through it so far but it seems like a sturdy little weapon. Will update as I get more rounds through it.

Correct.  Forgot, MD checks your tags to find out if you have a CCW and then pulls you over if you do.

Sad the east coast is so ate up with these anti gun states.

Chicago should be proof that the strictest gun laws do not reduce crime.

Chicago, and New York, and Los Angeles, and Washington D.C., and the list goes on and on. They continue to stick with the fantasy that criminals will obey the law when it comes to gun control even though by definition they are criminals and don't care about societies laws in the first place. Yet the rich and famous, the elite,  and the politicians run around surrounded by armed body guards while us common folk fend for ourselves!

real easy solution!! just move. would not live in location as you just described. if, not for themselves at least move for their families! I understand what your saying. But, these folks really and intensely believe what they preach. better just to leave them with it.

Problem with moving out of an anti-gun state is that you are just giving up. If you don't stay and fight for your constitutional rights you are just letting them grow stronger and then they move on your new adopted state! You need look no further than Colorado! They have taken over every thing north and south of Denver trying to control everything from guns to wood burning stoves. I've heard that they are trying to worm their way into Wyoming and Montana slowly pressuring everyone to take up legislation to turn things into the Californicated Republic they just ran from because of the draconian controls instituted there.  :soapbox: :soapbox: :soapbox:

not everyone in fact most folks who work and run business do not believe as these nuts do. so,when those folks leave so does the revenue. that pretty much takes care of everything else.

It didn't stop Colorado from passing the law to ban high capacity magazines even though magpul told them that they would leave if they did. The libtards passed it basically saying good riddance, we don't want your kind in our utopia. They only want green koumbya businesses.

In a hundred years or so I  could imagine two separate United States...an East and West or a North and South United States. One which believes in the constitution and the other which makes up the rules as they go along. The first believing in less government and more freedoms for its people and the other making more and more rules and regulations, and having its people dependent upon that government thereby loosing more and more of their freedoms.
It would be interesting...
I would hope my decedents would choose the first.

Yep, sig SP2022 in .40 with buffalo bore+P and a Beretta Nano with Crimson Trace in JHP .380.

I've owned the bike for ten days, so haven't decided where I am going to carry my sig.  It stays in my jacket for now.  My .380 is an appendix carry, so it stays there unless I'm sitting on the toilet answering questions on the forum with my iPad.   :huepfenlol2:
