Just wondering----I've been carrying a Glock 26 IWB for 5+ yrs and like it. But even with this small gun it slides my pants down and I have to keep "hiking them up".   How do you guys carry a 1911 without your pants fallling off.  My body size ain't pretty----I'm top heavy and my belt disappears when it's cinched up. No ass either to hold things up. Anyone else have this problem?

Hi Indenial,
I don't know what type or brand of holster if any you use but I like this style and brand offered by the Glock store.
http://www.glockstore.com/concealment/iwb-holsters/ultra-deep-cover-iwb-holster

As the listing shows it has a rough outside which doesn't slide a lot against skin or underwear so it helps control pants slippage. Yet it's not so rough it rubs you raw (unless you have very sensitive skin I guess?) This holster makes it easy to re-holster your weapon and it's design leads to good concealment even with your shirt tucked inside your pants. Everyone's body type is slightly different and it also depends on weapon placement along the belt line. If you check out the website they carry lots of concealment products including underwear with holsters sewn inside. Another thing is using a good quality gun belt to secure and not a thin flimsy stylish belt.
I commiserate with you I think we have similar builds, I need to wear "big gut- no butt" jeans ......I think my mama fed me "no-azz-at-all" brand baby formula as a kid darn it!

Thanks VaEagle, I like the store. Several things there I'd like to order.  I use a Crossbreed with a single hook on a 1 1/2 inch gun belt and it works well. Best I've found so far.

One secret is to wear suspenders or braces.   If I am carrying my glocks or large frame handgun, a good IWB works well if you have a good gunbelt that is tight.  I use Milt Spark, or Super tucks.  I have found  that for small handguns that front pocket carry in a pocket holster works well and you can have a grip on your firearm when in iffy situations without ever giving off a threating vibe.  I actually had a situation where the pocket was better than the pistol on my belt.  Two guys where sizing me up and I put my hand in the front pocket and got a grip on the smaller pistol while moving to a barrier between them and myself.  If I had reached for my pistol on my waist it might have escalated into a shoot out.  They finally figured out I was not going to be a soft target and fled.

When my wife wanted a 380 like all her lady rider friends had she wanted a Ruger LCP or a BodyGuard.  I did not want her to have either, felt the Sig was a much better 380.  So with her friends we went to the range, and I took a friends P238.  After my wife shot 4 different 380's she wanted the Sig P238 with out me saying a word.  If I would have told her it was the best, she would have never got it.  We have just over 1000 rounds thru it with zero issues.  Its her carry.

I just got the P938, same gun but in 9mm for summer carry, I will keep carrying the 1911's in the spring fall and winter.

I bought a BG 380 for my wife to use. One magazine and she handed it back to never touch again.

It's illigal in most modern countries to CCW including UK.

We carry in the states for many reasons. Most don't make sense and most should not carry because they can't hit a barn from the inside if the S hits the fan. The CCW training / permit shooting is a joke. Requirement should be. Present a concealed firearm and fire a controlled pair in the torso area in less than 1.5 seconds at 21 ft. If you can't do that Don't CCW.

Oh yeah. I carry a 1911

I just bought a DalTech Gun belt... 2" wide x 1/4" thick. It's a big stiff heavy belt that has no problem carrying the full size PX4 in its Crossbreed SuperTuck... even on my small frame.
