Just an observation from the cheap seats:

The OP having to post this question speaks volumes.  I wonder if anyone at HD HQ monitors the various HD forums, including this one?  Something's wrong when customers buy a company's top of the line product, then question whether to start replacing parts.  I'm not Harley or CVO bashing, just pointing out something that's concerning...something that should be especially concerning to a CEO.

Last year I bought a new Ford F-150 King Ranch.  I couldn't imagine buying a top of the line pickup, then immediately worrying about parts failing.  I don't think Ford mgmt would stand for reliability like that.

BTW, 20k on my CVO with original lifters, etc.  However, started using oil about 10k...1 qt. every 1,000 miles.  Not acceptable on a $30k+ bike after so few miles.  Others have posted similar issues about 110 oil consumption.

I had a friend in FL, and a friend in SC that the 6.0L PowerStroke Diesels in their brand new 2004 F-250, 350 King Ranches blew up (melted, 1 caught fire) on their first day with the trucks, window stickers still in the windows, later a large class action law suit for Ford on the 6.0s to the tune of $500M... My '04 F-250 6.0L Harley Truck has never let me down for >150k mi. so far, although I did perform preventative measures along the way... ( just like changing out the lifters in a 110 :nervous:)

There's not a Manufacturer out there that can throw stones...

The King Ranch edition does or did come with the finest of leather seats available in a truck if nothing else.

I can just imagine that being in the HD manual.  "At 10,000 miles, the MoCo recommends the owner replace the 110 lifters with those produced by a quality manufacturer."

My 3/4 ton Plantinum has some decent seats too but it sure rides like a truck... but would rather be on my bike than the truck every day.

Ride it until it dies........the extended plan won't pay for "preventive parts replacement". Why buy the extended plan and then spend money to prevent using it?

25K on my 2012.  Header, slipons and tuned.  Smile all the time when I hit the throttle.  Biggest problem I have is the rear tire... :orange:

My '12 SESG was running strong at 33K when I traded it this past August.  Only change was de-catted header, de-plugged stock SE mufflers and SERT.  The '15 has 7K miles so far and runs great with no plans to do anything to it at this point...or at least until the warranty runs out July '17.

Phantom 309, thanks for the video, and thanks to all for the input. I had planned on having cam bearings changed out and new lifters and pushrods, but since I renewed my warranty I will let it slide. However when the time comes I will definitely install the rocker lockers. Thanks CAHDBIKER

This is probably your ticking noise ...

Updated vid with before/after ... BIG difference!

Guys that have done this mod love it. Going to do it myself before winter is over. Just another smart guy that managed to fix another one of harley's many screw-ups with a handfull of tapered bushings.

I had a Ford Excursion lemon lawed the first year the 6.0 diesel came out. It was a nightmare from the get go, and supposedly Ford knew the motor had issues. After I had a complete power loss in the #1 lane on a major SoCal freeway, I got a lawyer involved. They took it back and wrote me a check. Worst vehicle I have ever owned.

Other than the lifters and a compensator, my 09 is internally stock with 32k.
