Title: Dresser duals and stock heat shields
Post by: spence on September 14, 2020, 08:10:43 AM
My 16 CVO I ran V&H dresser duals with Eliminators and loved the sound and performance.  My 2020 CVO has the different colored heat shields so going with black just would not look right at all.  Does anyone know anywhere that makes similar to the dresser duals but that will use stock heat shields (yes I know I will lose the look of duals), or would going with black and having them painted or coated be feasible?  I currently run fullsac headers.

I'm not sure if this is what your looking for ? Take a look at the Supertrapp Exhaust for CVO's

I did the cores(2") from Fullsac with the header. That way all stock shields fit to keep the look the same. They also offer 2 1/4" and 2 1/2" cores.

I have fullsac on there now but wanting the duals.  I see the SuperTrap but thats just the mufflers.  I am able to keep the stock heat shields on the mufflers I have, just need the dual headers that will keep the stock shields.

Don't thing anybody makes a dual head pipe that the stock shields will fit.

To keep stock shields on the head pipe you need a Fullsac Head pipe or a Fuel Motor Head pipe.

Either of these head pipes will produce better torque than a true dual.

I think you'll see better performance on the dyno by keeping the Fullsac header.  If you're just after a different sound, try the different Fullsac baffles.  I've always been amazed at guys that are willing to give up performance for different noise.   :nixweiss:

To each their own.  You pay what we do for a CVO we can do what we want to it.

Even if you went with the exact same exhaust setup it would sound different with the M8 over the Twin Cam. So, the true duals are out if you want to keep your stock heat shields, and the Fullsac header system that you have is better in performance and quality than the true duals. If you are looking for a more throaty aggressive sound maybe check out TAB Performance mufflers. I have a couple buddies that have them on their CVO's and they really sound good, they have 3 different baffles to choose from and you can utilize your factory heat shields and end caps.
I have the Fullsac treatment with 2" cores and tech mat on my M8 which works perfect for me at 60 plus years, but if I were to go more aggressive I would go with the TAB's.
