Having trouble finding a good map. yes I am trying to avoid actually paying for the dyno tune until I swap the cams.

2013 CVO Roadglide
Stock SE Air cleaner
V&H True duels
RC Components 4" slip-ons
Power commander V

My current map runs great but pops really bad on downshifts and stumbles a little at idle.

If anyone has an exact match (  ) I'd really appreciate trying your map.

These sorts of running/ride ability issues is why tuners still have a place in the market.
Canned maps are for getting the bike to run adequately.
Dyno tuning gets best performance and elimination of niggling issues like decel backfiring.

I personally have not tried this with a Harley but I use a PC5/Autotune/LCD-200 setup on two of my personal motors.  It works beautifully.  One of the motors is pulling about 150 hp out of 1000 cc and the other motor is pulling about 275 hp out of 1500 cc.

I know of very few tuners in the country that I would trust.  I have found that the vast majority are clueless how this stuff really works.

Canned tunes get motors started, dynos get it to the track and the real tuning starts there.  I know several Indy car and stock car dyno operators.  They spend 10s of millions of dollars every year getting their dyno program to duplicate what they see off the track data loggers.  I skip that step.

Most everything I use has a version of autotune.  I use it, but then I verify it.  I will be happy to teach you.  Good hardware and software makes it easy.  Dynojet makes some cool stuff.

Nobody cares more about your motor than you do.

Whenever possible I prefer recalibrating the system by reprogramming the ECM not using an add-on box that is alpha-n control with a speed-density system that only allows for fueling and maybe timing.

For older, non-closed loop bikes it works adequately and i use them when appropriate.
For late model (closed loop) bikes I prefer retaining the benefits of the native closed loop operation and be able to alter the peripheral tables that let me further dial in a tune.

I always do PC5 tunes in Speed Density.  At least on the easy to tune stuff....  The rice bikes are SD till about 15% throttle and then they go to AN..

Again, what does a power commander decked out for boosted engines apply to this thread?
It's a stock stage1 bike.
He just needs a good Power Commander open loop tune.

So will a stock PCV without all the extra peripherals.

No need to eliminate the factory O2s and add ANOTHER controller to the system.

That is a KISS system.  You ought to see my kids rice car.  It even has vacuum and boost accumulators just to run the boost control.

The dynojet stuff is way cool, simple and just flat works.  I have both a Powervision and a couple of PC5s on my personal stuff.
