Good lord.  Next Harley will try to sell "HD Executive Office Suite Pre-Flushed Solid Refuse in Screamin' Eagle Hermetically Sealed Logo Engraved Clear Container" and will expect people to buy it.

To me how is it any different than buying a seat from an old stadium. Is it overpriced? Sure is.

Or a share in the Greenbay Packers.
Or your name on a brick in a museum or such.
Someone will buy a few bricks :)

What's wrong with buying stock in the Green Bay Packers? (I don't own any) We bought a rivit at the HD museum in memory of a good friend of ours that passed in a motorcycle accident. I personally won't be buying a brick but congrats to anyone that does.

Never said there was anything wrong with a share of the Greenbay Packers. Free country and folks can spend their money as they like. As Jimmy 2K said, "Kent hyde monie."

The idea is the same Mike.  Sure it is. It even makes me chuckle a little.

It's just such a "Harley" thing to do though.  Hell, they probably think they're doing us a favor giving us a chance to buy their debris  :huepfenlol2: .

What if you bought one of those bricks open up the box and saw that the brick was cracked would there be any warranty or were they just tell you they are all that way?

Would have to buy the Screamin Eagle Mortar and Repair Kit which would not be complete as you'd need the special primary brick adhesive and a special applicator gun to apply it.

I bought two stadium seats that came out of the Astrodome. I could have bought four seats for the cost of one brick. But there is a big difference. Seat versus paperweight.

I agree with you Simon and don't see anything wrong with it. Cant deny Harley a great part of American history and if I was into collecting things (which I am not) I think this is kinda cool. Certainly would start a conversation..

Nowhere in the link does it indicate which bikes the brick will fit or not fit, or if a "Brick Adapter Kit" is needed to add the brick to a bike.  Odd no mortar is listed, non HD mortar would surely void any brick warranties.

I think somebody may be a "few bricks short of a load".   ;)

To each their own.  How many of your friends question you on why you would ever spend that kind of money on a CVO?  But we did, and never looked back.

I'm still waiting on my pet rock to actually give me a return on my investment.... ;D

Seriously, the "selling of the bricks" ain't a bad idea.  For those that have a Harley room in the house, this little ditty displayed as part of the history of the Company would be a conversation starter...
"Yep, there was only a limited number of these little babies and I was lucky enough to snag one".  "That's neat, how much did it set you back?".  "With shipping, it was around $350 big ones".  "Really?  Wow! I've got some prime, beach front property in Nebraska you may be interested in."  "ooooo Ha, ha, ha, ha, ooo, ha, ha, ha.....no more soup for you!"
....or something to that affect.... ::)

Some company   in Hong Kong  somewhere is busily making "HD" wood cases filled with old bricks to sell on the internet. Possibly is the brother-in-law of the guy who runs the company actually making the HD wood cases for Harley.

They should make the boxes out of old barn wood. Put soft-close hinges on it and have the lid fitted with a iPad and every time you open it up, it automatically would show the history of the Harley-Davidson Legacy

It might be useful when a dealer tells you "they all do that" as they deny your warranty claim.

Maybe they’ll have a limited edition with a skull logo on the box lid and documented oil from Willie G’s personal bike.

Stupid hat wearing dead dinosaurs that died to make oil for Willie G's bike so that his used oil could be sold in little bottles for $375 an ounce and for maybe another $1,000 you can get a used Willie G. Genuine HD oil filter with a complimentary broken compensator?

Finally, it seems like Christmas.   :drummer:

I'm waiting on the screamin eagle claw hammer.  So I can beat rusty nails from the original HD shed into my forehead.
