Title: eng lite stays on?
Post by: SemperFi64 on August 05, 2018, 02:42:27 PM
Just putting it out there cause; pulled up the codes and gave it to the local dealer and was told; has it affected the throttle response?  My reply was no the battery connections are good, fluids are good, and the cycle drives, fine and so is the throttle action.

Basically then told when something breaks, bring it in and we'll fix it...
So whats the warranty for, or the preventive maintenance about. Ok, so when it breaks or whatever it does while Im on the road, it does more harm, and cost me more it I'm out in No Mans land. ???

The bike has thrown a code?  Or currently is throwing codes?  And, if so, dealer is saying won't do anything with it until some problem is more pronounced?  Just not sure I was deciphering your original post.

We need a lot more detail.  Let's start with what bike and year, then the actual codes (DTC's) you pulled up.  As for the dealership, you aren't required to take the bike to the clowns who sold it to you, the warranty is good at any Harley dealership.  If I was you, I'd express my dissatisfaction with their response to the dealer principle and to H-D corporate, then if not satisfied with the response I'd find another dealership.  Sadly, there are a lot of dealerships that don't take service seriously and don't hire qualified people.  Part changers at best.

The codes are from my 2017 cvo SG w/stage IV approx miles 6065.
Codes are: Ecn, Bcn, Rad
P1511
P2101
Which these two codes pertain to the ECM
power management mode, and TCA motor circuit range/performance
that's why I believe he was asking about the Throttle response.

Your dealer (obviously) got lazy.  Issues, sometimes intermittent and sometimes not, with that combination of codes isn't a new nor unknown thing.  Almost sure there was a service bulletin on the topic also.  Tell them to check open up every connector in the throttle and engine controls circuits.  Clean all the connections/connectors.  Repair anything that shows any signs of fretting.  Give them all a coat of dielectric grease.

Did the bike ever go in to limp mode?
