Title: Power commander 5 map question.
Post by: Raiderone on January 14, 2019, 10:51:38 PM
I have a 2000 SERG. I’m am looking to add a pc-v to it. Has anyone done this? What map did you use if so. Looking through the available maps I don’t know what would work with a factory bike setup. I’ve read that my bike doesn’t have flat top pistons and all the maps say flat top pistons and stage 2 ecu which I doubt mine has.

It has a power commander 2 on it now that I don’t believe is working right, the bike is running pretty bad and won’t respond to the manual imput button changes. My local Dyno guy doesn’t have the correct software anymore to tune the pc 2. So he told me to get a 5 or find an older power commander with usb.

Thanks

Not sure. But I think the pc5 is for 2008 and newer. I think pc3 was previous.

According to the PC website the PC III USB has been discontinued for 2000 model year bikes and they now recommend the PC-V.  If you are planning to buy a new unit, go with the PC-V.  If you are planning to buy a used device, you could still go with the PC III USB model as long as your tuner has the software to work with it.
