Well, I assumed it was obvious because of how our bikes make us all feel....or at least, how mine made me feel when I first saw it!!  :pepper:

Now I get it. Being old school, I thought you had named it after the old woody station wagon from days gone by.

Nope.  I'd call the woody the woody.  If I could get one at my age.  Finances are tough you know.  So owning a high end bike prevents me from buying that old Merc woody I've always wanted.

I've had two cars named for me as well as the bike.   I'd thought it amusing and a good ice breaker for getting a conversation started.  I've thought it overdone as people continue to give me Finding Nemo stuffed fish.  I've thought it annoying when the bike fell over and scratched the lower fairing that everyone made a broken flipper joke.

But calling names lame just because you think only an attack helicopter is worthy?  Tell you what.  You can go take a ride on one of my son's 47' coast guard boats during a nor'easter.  They don't have names other than the same as 2lanes and Iski's.  After you're done puking you can tell me all about what's named and not named being lame.  His V-Rod has a name too.  He didn't name it and he doesn't use it.  But he's smart enough to not make fun of someone who does.

About now is where Hubbard comes in, quotes the pithier parts of people's posts, adds a few West Virginia words of wisdom and signs off with
" There endeth the lesson "

Lets see some more Harleys's with names now. You know we've got your back so don't be bashful about it.

My bike's name is "Innominate".  My Harley named itself.  And I'll fight all y'all bastards that don't like it.

Much better than naming it "Annoymouse" because an annoying mouse is not a good name for a bike, unless you live near Disney or a Chuck E. Cheese..... :huepfenlol2:

Not sure if you were speaking to me with that but I don't believe I called anyones name for their bike "lame". I did state that I don't personally name my vehicles, cars or bikes, but could not possibly give less of a crap if a person wants to name their bike after a cabbage patch doll, stroke it on the gas tank and talk to it like it is alive.

Even worse? My youngest brother darned near cut his hand off with a saw. All the nerves were severed and most of the bones. They re-attached it but his hand just sticks out from his arm. Can't move a single finger. Guess his nickname. Yep... "Flipper".

Nope, the part you quoted was not meant for you.  It was my opinion of someone deciding an expression of individuality is lame when applied to something they don't agree with but ok when its what they do.

To each their own.  If it don't hurt you or yours, don't insult or belittle it.

That's funny.  Latin Harley (the ancient world being the derivation of all Harley tech).

I remember a chat BB and I had before LD got its name.  Something about never just picking a name; that the car or bike has to some way give it up.  The last thing any of us wants is to be riding around on a temperamental bike that's pissed off all the time just because it doesn't like it's name.
