Holy Chit!  Not all the specs are out yet, but it appears to be the same engine as the other 14 series bike.  Fastest touring bike on the road would be an understatement if that's the case...

Nice bike!  Has ABS among other things.

I used to ride BMWs in the same touring category and to get the speed lower moved to HD. Very happy.  Look at such bikes and feel no willingness to move back.

Agree with getting the speed lower, Rubaga...but that is an awesome machine Kawasaki is about to unleash.  If it's the same engine as the other series, it'll have 112FPT and God knows how much HP...

Agree with you. Its just a different concept from HD.  I really enjoy now the HD way of travel. Took me some time to come to that - was nice to do Barcelona - Munich with one overnight stop. However, what I found is that I always travelled via Autoroute, did not see anything around me and the speed was picking up itself even if I wanted to go slow.

On HD on the other way I just can not go that fast and perfectly happy about that.

So despite the fact that I recognise how good this Kawa is I am trully happy to feel indifferent to its introduction.  In my old days I would have run now to the dealer to agree the test drive etc.

Any I hope I did not hijack the theme with my philosophical views on HD vs other bikes.

I had looked for a while at FJR 1300s as a compliment to my WG3 for touring , but the 07 color is horrid,  this puppy should get up and fly.

I'd loose that pipe though ..FUGLY

It's probably fast.  It's probably technically quite modern.  It may be comfortable.  It'll likely perform its intended mission exceedingly well.  But my god is it ever ugly.

It's my understanding that the engine has been somewhat de-tuned from the ZX14 engine and they have lowered the power band for touring.  Still going to be an awesome bike.  I actually like the look of it.  We saw it at the Vancouver Motorcycle show and it looks good in person.  The bike they had there was hand assembled to get it out to the public.

It will have some type of a VTEC system to raise bottom end torque above the ZX14, but down on HP compared to the 14.

I am pretty sure it has the 50k plugs like my ZX14.
