Hope this helps explain on the 2015.

I see what you were talking about now.   The 15's have a completely different saddlebag speaker connector than the 16's.   With the lack of mentioning the jumper harness for the amp input, and the issues you encountered with the connector being too short,  it seems like they rushed the kit out without doing all of their research!   Other than that I am happy with the upgrade though and my bike sounds awesome!  When I got home from the dealership my ears were ringing as if I had been at a concert and stood too close to the stage!   Thanks again for the part number for the jumper,   I would still have been stuck because the dealer had no idea what I was talking about or what I might have needed!

Glad I could help! The only way I caught it was looking at the photo for tour pack speaker harness. It showed a 20 pin connector to 20 pin connector with a breakout. I did put comments on the HD parts website so hopefully nobody else runs into this issue. I agree though, the sound clarity is now significantly better and louder. Nice job on documenting your install!

You absolutely DO have to have the amp for a CVO Road Glide Ultra. The directions are so vague my local dealer's tech had to call and open a case with Harley because when he went to flash it, he could not add the 6 or 8 speaker option. The RGU has a Stage 2 Boom system, and anything with a Stage 2 system has to have an amp.

There's 3 stages of the Boom system.
Standard - No amp
Stage 1 - One 300 watt amp
Stage 2 - Two 300 watt amps with the stage 2 speakers.

RGU and the Limited both have the Stage I system with only one 300 watt amp and stage I speakers. On either of these bikes you would need to add another amp to power the lower speakers.  Kiss one of your saddlebags goodbye as it's going to take up a little room there.

Other option is to find a 6 channel amp that will fit under the radio replacing the stock amp that's in there now but you will not have  fader controls.

Even a Stage 2 bike like the SESG that already has 2 amps still needs a 3rd amp added for those lower speakers.

Does your amp harness firmly "click or lock" together? I just completed my install and am not satisfied with this huge connector that doesn't even seem to lock together.

It took a bit of elbow grease to get it to lock together. But it will click together. Have fun getting it un-done when taking your bag off   :confused5:
