It didn't take long to disassemble the front end. The toughest part was figuring it what tools to use.. A 12mm Allen wrench is needed to remove the Fork lowers. A huge metric Allen type socket is needed to remove the Fork caps. A very big adjustable was used to remove the triple tree top bolt.

Dude - I have a new Gunship Gray CVO RG and I’ve still got the stock exhaust on it.  Only thing I’ve changed is the windshield.  You make me feel like such a SLACKER!

Compared to Mike, everyone is a slacker.  I have done Hiway pegs, rider back rest, CB, Yaffe Stealth III plate frame, Custom dynamic turn signals, Yaffe 14" apes, Klock works windshield and a brake light strobe.  Also Fullsac baffles.

I had most of this planned. I just didn't know if I was going to purchase a CVO or a Special.

I was in the garage for a few hours this morning. I am using the American Suspension bolt on kit. I also went with the AS front air ride pistons and their lower legs with internal fender mounts.

The neck kit went on easily. I like how it secures to the bike compared to the previous versions I've used.

The front end is on. I have to find my loc-tite and tighten everything up. This afternoon I hope to get the bars and inner fairing back on. I'll use a test wheel to set the fender. That should get me to where I wanted to be, everything ready to go to paint.

All the work has made me curious Mike.  Given the quantity of changes have you run the numbers to see if you'd have been money ahead starting with a non-CVO rather than a CVO model to get to your desired end-product?
