Thanks Neal, I thought of that, but thought it was kinda weird having them things popping open and closed uninstalled. Still an option although.

I got this from Zanottis today:

"The new race tuner that is coming out is 32107-01H and it set to be released from H-D at the end of the month.  This has the new software with it.  The current version of the software that will work with 07 models is 32117-01J.  The new software that will work with the 08 models is going to be 32117-01L."

Howie,

Why not just unplug them? My bike was running fine without the rear one connected. The same should be true on yours.

Thanks Chuck. I will try that first. I was told that doesn't work, but that would be easiest. A SERT/PC combo is kinda appealing. Joe likes the PC and tunes very well with it. If it ever fails, I can still ride the bike with a decent SERTed ECM tune as a backup. But I can add the SERT anytime, if just disconnecting them works fine! Good idea! :2vrolijk_21:

This is confusing now. Mine died after they burnt up and I'm under the inpression that they're tied into the ECM and the motor doesn't run without them. Hmmmm. :nixweiss:

I'm almost positive that one of the wires that runs to the ACR is purple. Assuming that's the same wire in spot #15, the result is the same if you pull wire #15 or unplug the ACRs themselves. I can check the schematic when I get home. To doublecheck the wiring.

I'm thinking an open circuit is OK wile the shorted circuit you got by melting the wires together is not OK.

Howie,

I suspect the total loss of compression - given the hole in your head where the compression release used to reside - is likely why your bike would not run.  (HS shop class taught me that for a motor to run, you need gas, spark and c---------n - {fill in the blanks!!}) :2vrolijk_21:

Compression was fine in the front cylinder. I would've thought it would run on one cylinder Scott. There's no explanation why it wouldn't run on the front cylinder, even with no compression in the rear. With or without the PC connected. Still baffled here!
