I just found this site and it has lots of great info. It makes you wonder how information was shared before the internet?
Anyway - turned 50 and decided it was time for the ride I had been thinking about for 35 years. Loaded up my 2001 SE Road Glide - headed out of MASS and for 24 days I roamed the US. Down to Ashville, NC - Biltmore Estates - great stop - to a buddy in McComb MS, across to Natchez, across TX to Roswell - up to the Grand Canyon - A few parks in southwest Utah - up and across Nevada to Winnamuca - then north up to Burns and Portland OR - hit the Pacific Coast and then headed back east - Yellowstone, Cody, Sturgis - Bad Lands all the local good stuff - my favorite - the Woodcarvers Museum - after that it was all highway back to Mass. 8500 miles in 24 days and I had the time of my life.
I traveled alone and I am constantly asked if I had any problems -- None - find the local biker bar and you're as much at home as if you were around the corner from your house. Bikers everywhere are the same - great people.
If you're thinking about doing a ride like this - get going. Life is short and I waited too long -- won't happen again.
