Traxxion AK-20 initial test results
« on: October 24, 2008, 06:07:36 AM »

Took the SERK for a squirt over a smaller mountain range close to home with lots of testing sufaces and corners, went really nice. Stopped for a beer  :drink: :drink: and met up with a few boys and then ran the Suspension through some tests on dry roads to the next stop. BLOODY AWESOME!!!!  :2vrolijk_21:No Chit, this change to the suspension has made a world of difference to every aspect of the bike. The other week I went over the same roads but now you would swear the roads were different but they are not, now the suspension is actually working as it always should have worked. Not giving the final vote of approval just yet, as I have some serious tests lined up for this set up, but so far I am bloody amazed at how soid this bike feels now. It is now performing as you would expect it to depending on the surface you line her up on but without any of the surprises I was getting with the stock set up.
Still running the stock rear air suspension too. Cannot wait to see what difference the Bitubo rear shocks are going to make when  they go on.
Will keep you posted.

Good advice Hoist thanks for the tip. Did end up being more expensive than planned as the NZ dollar fell against the greenback putting my cost up and then I also got pinged 12.5% tax on top of it all. Does not matter to me now the system is installed and delivering the results because the riding is so much sweeter. I cannot wait until I can test her two up in touring mode.

Congrats on your AK-20 install.  They really do make a world of difference.  Things will get even better once you install the Bitubos and get them dialed in.  The real confirmation for you will come after you've ridden your AK-20/Bitubo equipped bike for awhile and then get on a stock bike.  You won't believe the difference and how you ever managed without the good stuff.

Enjoy!

Man everytime I read about someone installing the Traxxion AK-20 front end makes my mouth water. I know this is a must have upgrade for Ole Punkin this winter.

Thanks for the report.
