Falcon,
I am a new B on the site and my black and slate was to ship on 10-12.  I spoke to the dealer yesterday and they are giving me a 4-6 week behind excuse  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Oh sorry
When he told you two weeks ago that it was on the truck he must have just been blowing smoke.

Somebody must have some pics of their black and slate bike that they can post here, other then the ones from HD.

10-4 jeffj. as for the tire I know that I am in SD but out here in the hills it does not get that bad.  I have lived here for three years and have ridden my fatty every month all be it sometimes into town for one cold one [smiley=drink.gif] but at least a ride.  I am hoping to have 1000 miles by early spring that is if it ever shows up!

Jeffj,
Have you discussed your mods with your dealer with respect to your warranty?
The reason I ask is I plan on doing the same on my '06 (when it arrives) and the dealer is pushing extended but I'm not sure on how they're going to react to the power commander.
I also heard trough the grapevine that the moco is discouraging the dealers from doing mods on '06 models. (period) What have you learned?

hdhighwayman,

Great question and I got the feeling that some HD Dealers are OK with Power Commander and others aren't. I know the Mo Co is trying to keep the 3 letter US Gov Organizations all happy and aren't as easy to get info on. My feelings the few modifications I have done with my bike should not cause any/many problems in the future. As a matter of fact I think what I have done will actually make the motor run better.

Keep your stock exhaust and such - who knows what the 3 letter US Gov Organizations have in mind.

As far as Extended Warranty, I would have the "big boy" discussion with your HD dealer and get his feelings on this subject before I went with to much of a extended warranty. I did take out the 3rd year and I now have some regrets but I wasn't sure about the new Stereo and such. My take on extended warranty is, chance's are I am not going to keep a scooter more than 3 years. So I now don't go for the extended warranty any longer.

Thanks,
I too believe what you have done will in fact help the engine run better. I have done virtually the same thing with my '02 RK. But that was after the one yr. warranty ran out. I will have a disscusion with my dealer on this matter, and any effect it may have on my warranty. But I plan to do the mods after 1000 mi. warranty or not.
I have an impression in my mind on what my new SE should sound and run like, and I'm not going to let the warranty stand in my way.  ;D

Well. . . [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] As a matter of fact, it did! It arrived Thursday 10.20.05 (5 weeks behind the scheduled or "planned" delivery date of 09.13.05) Took it home in a trailer Saturday 10.22.05 (it has been rainin' like hell here for a week) I got a dry window Sunday and put 250 miles on her. 45 degrees and I froze the grin on my face permanently. Took it back to the dealer last night - getting Rineharts, EFI, Race Tuner and dyno tuning today. (had this same configuration on my '03 FLHTCUI and was very, very pleased) I'll have some pix and dyno results for you all soon.

Jeffj,
I have purchased a set of Rinehart True duals and will be adding the ECM tuner from HD # 32107-01D.  According to the dealer the "D" at the end of the part # is very important for some reason.  I have a friend at the dealer from high school and he is in sales but has also gone through the tech school in AZ as well.  Up until about a year ago he was installing the power comander.  The dealership sent the techs back to AZ for some traing and taught them how to tune the HD tuner and now that is what they use??  They are going to download a general map unitl the 1000 mile then will be dyno'd tuning both jugs.  I baught the pipes from cyborg cycle for 627.00 which is much lower than I found them elswhere.  http://www.cyborgcycles.com/rinehrt.html
