Windscreens
« on: November 01, 2009, 08:11:13 PM »

Has anyone tried the Kuryakyn touring windscreen on a Road Glide? Turbulence is tough on my eyes and I don't want to
go to goggles/helmet shield or full face if I can help it. Any info would be appreciated.

Bill, I have not seen a post on the Kuryakyn.  You might have to be the guinea pig.  I swapped out the stocker for a 12" Klockwerks the day I bought the bike.  (5' 11")  It was OK for around town.  Switched to the Clearview GT Small.  Very nice funtion but lacked style on a very stylized bike.  Now have the 14" Cee Bailey and like it a lot.  Just my  $.02.

If you search, you'll find various threads.  Here's a couple:

I did the Klock Werks as well and found it okay around town.
I hate being the guinea pig, again, lol. But I probably will. I'll post the results.
I will also look into the Cee Bailey before I jump.
Thanks a lot for your .02 it's worth more than that to me.

Hi Bill , I have the Kuryakyn it's an excellent windshield. Great protection from wind and rain. It is quite large to look at and does bounce slightly at idle but nothing to be concerned about. I can listen to my radio at half volume at 120 kph with no problem. I have ridden about 8,000 kms with it and would highly recommend it for touring. When I am around town I have an 8" Klockwerks for looks, it doesn't provide any protection however. Hope this helps.

Hi TBird  I have not yet seen the Kury on a bike,  I was wondering what the difference is in the thickness of it and the KW I have a 12" KW on my bike and it's still not quite enough protection but I love the look.  A picture says a thousand words if you have one.

Hi Marty
The thickness of the Kury is similar however because of its size it does vibrate slightly at idle certainly nothing that is annoying, as soon as you touch the throttle it smooths out. I had the 12"KW on for a road trip down east this summer and really liked it however it does not even come close to the protection you get with the Kury Touring. I am completely happy with the Kury. I will try and post a few pics so you can see what it looks like. If you are riding to P Dover on the 13th you will need it.

Here are the specs from the Kury site, 14"H by 21" long. Check out the reference points for the measurements its a pretty big windshield but I think it looks good for the size.
