Where did you get that the tire sizes are different? The same model tire of the same sizes will be the same tire! What am I missing here? :nixweiss:

JC, the number is the Load Rating and the letter is the Speed Rating. I believe you'll find the same ratings on the SERG as the SESG. And again, I don't see how the tires would be different sizes, regardless of whether they use the same wheel size. ;)

Hoist! :coolblue:

Thanks Howie.  I'm with you.....I think they're both the same load and speed rating.  They're definately the same size according to the HD web site.

We'll see what pops on Friday if it's not raining to hard.

I do not have a SG but if I did, I would go with chrome wheels.
They look better and are easier to maintain.

That's my take.... :2vrolijk_21:

Would you trade your stock SESG wheels for a pair of stock SERG wheels (I think they call them the blade wheels)?  They're an all chrome wheel.

I just haven't been to big on the black and chrome wheel.  I like the wheel style but the black doesn't go with a blue bike (or a red or brown bike).  It's kind of like the regular Street Glide wheels.......they're black, too.  If they were all chrome, I'd be happy with them but they're black.

I have an opportunity to trade for a set of SERG wheels and am seriously considering it.  What's your thoughts.....would you trade?

Here's a link to view the SERG wheels.......  http://www.harley-davidson.com/wcm/Content/Pages/2009_Motorcycles/2009_Motorcycles.jsp?test=true&locale=en_US&bmLocale=en_US#/model/fltrse

I'd trade I stood in the showroom between my SESG and the 09 SERG and wanted to swap them there and then the dealer wasnt interested. Much better look in my opinion

JCZ, I think the SESG's come with d408 tires, not the d407s. There is a difference in the tread pattern. Also, if I'm mistaken there is a tread about the chrome wheels being a different weight. That may change the handling characteristics too. Oh, I also like the SESG wheels on the Spiced Rum....It fits the theme and the style of the whole bike with the black inner fairing painted cow bells ect. IMHO of course.

Thanks for the heads up.

I do remember reading that the chrome wheels are heavier.  Kind of makes me wonder "how much heavier?".  Also, if the SERG wheels are to heavy for the SESG then what about the all chrome SESG wheels?

Terrie's 09 Street Glide had the 407 tires but they changed it to the 408 upon request, due to slight cupping.  I don't think that would be a problem getting that done at the same time, if that's what we do.
