Most will say that you will lose some low torque with true duals, but it's very small, and with a good tune, won't be noticed. The one thing you will notice is the sound. Removing the factory crossover and adding true duals will make equal flow out of both mufflers, where now you have most of the flow going out the right side, so be prepared for increased volume. It's a good sound, just louder.  I had the Bassanni true duals once. I liked them, but in Texas, the power curve thingy puts out too much heat.

i have the bassani true duals.
i love them.
they sound cool as hell, and they look good too.
you will actually gain some torque and hp with them, if the bike is tuned for your set-up.
i had the v&h ovals with them, and while i liked the sound, the performance gains i was looking for was not there.
i wound up going with their mufflers w/ hi output baffles.
not really sure that i need them. in fact i think the bike might produce some higher dyno numbers with a little more resticted baffles, but the bike pulls like a tractor now, so i will just leave well enough alone.

I went from a set of Thundercones to the 2" cores straight cuts, and I did gain some torque, and they were more mellow.

Yup, they are, and YES I do. Haven't had any problems so far.
They sure do sound GOOOD. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

whats nice about the long pipes, is that it throws out the sound behind you. you don't hear as much noise when you are riding. great thing if you have tunes.

Is there anything about changing the exhaust on this beast that makes it anymore difficult than normal? I'm thinking of doing the exhaust and air cleaner in my garage tomorrow. Will probably leave the fuel management system to a professional.

Nothing more difficult than normal, they're a bit of a pain to remove. I would not recommend running the bike without doing the fuel management first. When you change the air box and pipes it will be VERY lean with the stock map.

Do you know what fuel management system your going with? If its the power commander they are very easy to install and you can load a map that will get you close so you can ride it until you get it tuned

if you did the stage 1 download, you should be fine until you decide what fuel mgt. system you are going to use.
if you did not do the download, i would recomend NOT running the bike at all. it will run WAY to lean, and you can cause serious damage to your motor.

Completed the project yesterday. Pipes, SE air cleaner and V&H fuel management system. I mapped it as close to what I could find and ran the bike. Ran well, but got a call from V&H and will remap with their recommendation today. Should be good to go. These pipes sound awesome!!!    8-)
