Man, that made me sick to my stomach!  He didn't appear to be seriously injured.  My take, is an obvious case of inexperience.  Big Motor and a Big Ego, does not a Biker make.  Later--HUBBARD

[smiley=stars.gif] Sheesh, sickening. Even though he seemed to be showing off, it was hardly funny.  I'm sure I have looked as foolish a time or twelve.  Just never did that much to one of my rides.

Hurts to watch. :-X

I agree Hubbard. I watched it three times and couldn't see any reason for him to hit the car other than total and complete lack of experience. He somehow caught the rear end snap to the right on take-off and then couldn't force himself to lean right to avoid the car

I don' think he was showing of. Looks to me like total inexperience (to much bike for to little experience). :( Either that or alcohol or drugs. [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Either one of the three above mentioned things would make you "not" realize all you have to do is pull the clutch in, hit the brakes before you hit something.

Lets armchair quarterback this video a minute.

1. Is this guy dressed appropriately to be riding a bike? Dressed more for some time on the basketball courts appears to me.

2. Why does he take his bag and put it over his shoulder on a full dresser w/saddle bags and tourpak? I know this clip doesn't show everything, but it does show him closing saddlebag. I just can't imagine someone just picking up bike (from this clip I dare say that he had ridden this bike to where this clip started) and have it loaded to the hilt already and not have room for that bag. The only reason I mention this is thinking maybe this bag slid around and had something to do with him controlling the bike after he gets it rolling.

3. He definitely hasn't had much time in the saddle (if any). The way he dumps the clutch reminds me of my daughter learning how to drive a manual transmission. [smiley=nervous.gif]

4. Just before he makes contact with the car you see the brake lights flicker, but they don't stay on constant as if he was applying full force to brakes trying to stop. Would appear that he just freezes and awaits impact (another sign of inexperience). I say this only because I have first hand knowledge of freezing up when learning to ride and taking something out. Luckily for me I wasn't on an expensive bike, and I was in a field. :o

Everytime I look at this video it just makes me sick to my stomach, not only the injuries this guy did or could have suffered. The innocent people that could've been hurt had he hit someone instead of the car. It would appear that this was a brand new bike by the mention of price he paid for it (24K), and total cost after additions (39k), you would think someone at dealership (salesperson/Service Advisor when he had modifications done) would have picked up somewhere along the line that he'd never been on (or lack of experience riding) a scooter.

I've always believed in some type of graduated or type rating licencing.
We have Kids with little or no experience riding some very powerful bikes
after finishing a weekend coarse on a 250cc.
Something should be done.

I watched it maybe 65 times, stopping and starting the clip. In the very last frame you can see  the rider standing up behind the 'target car'. Until I saw that, I felt bad. But after I saw him standing all I could do was  [smiley=ROFLOL.gif] !

Garz,
I looked at it at least that many times and missed seeing him get up. He was one lucky fellow. :-/

Yeah, I took a close look and I think he gets up - he wasn't going THAT fast (but enought to hurt)

Cheers

The most amazing thing is how far he knocked the rear end of the car. Looks like about 2 or 3 feet. [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]
