Help needed for shock mod
« on: May 15, 2011, 10:28:10 PM »

I'm looking to replace the stock shocks on my WG2 with the Progressive 812's (photo below). As I recall, the WG2 & 3 had a factory lowered suspension. The Progressive site says the stock WG shock measurement was 12.6". They sell the 812 shock in 11", 11.5" 12" and 12.6" lengths. How can I make sure I get the correct replacement? Is the measurement I want to make from center to center on the mounting holes of the shock?

I have a new set of the stock shocks from harley in  the box and they measure 11.75 center to center. Tried a set of 11 inch 440's once on a lowrider once looked cool rode like a ridged. Remember a 1 inch shorter shock lowers  the bike at least 1.5 to 2 inches lower.    Larry
