Willyb, I have read the fine print on a lot of the octane boosters. Most of them will say they will make 2 or 3 tenths of a percent increase in octane boost. If takes 1% to go from say 89.1 to 89.2 then  really the 2 or 3 tenths of a  percent is actually 2 to 3 100th of an octane. I used to use Rocket Fuel when I had my built 80" Evo which had static compression of 210lbs per cylinder, but it would still ping unless I used 100 octane pump gas. I don't have that engine anymore, and I am glad because the places that sell 100 octane are few and far between not to mention the price. Also I remember that if I didn't  have a pretty much empty tank and mixed say 92 Octane with 100 Octane it didn't work as good. But if I could get a full tank of 100 octane you could really feel the difference. You could hear it in the exhaust and no pinging. I now think octane boosters are a waste of money and as one of the other guys said what you are paying per gallon at the price they charge for a small bottle is outrageous.Probably cheaperer to buy 100 Octane if you could find it. Most small airports will have it.) Just my 2 cents based on experience. Another snake oil I avoid is fuel injector cleaner additive. At most they will loosen up some debri that will then get stuck in one of your injectors.(Sorry for the slight subject change) CAHDBIKER

Thanks to everyone for their feedback.

Your responses were what I thought. Snake Oil!

So I can let me brother know, will it hurt his bike if he uses this stuff? He says he's been using some sort of octane booster crap for years.

Don't think it will hurt anything other than his billfold.

If it's a store bought over the counter product likely not.  Some gray market or home brewed products can definitely hurt things though.
