I was at a bike event and another CVO owner asked about a CVO TAG? What is that? I have never seen one
On my FXR4

There are no CVO references anywhere on an FXR2, 3 or 4.  They were only in production as CVOs those years, so ..... they just were. 8)

Yes, I don't have a pic, but I did see somewhere on a FXR2 side cover, a circular pattern that read "custom vehicle operations", with FXR2 in the center of the circling print. This was done in a block type and in the same paint as the Harley Davidson on the tank.

In those years, CVO was the group that produced the bikes, but it became a marketing program later.  The FXRs were IMHO, an experiment that took off. Being the last FXRs, they were actually rare and not made to be rare and collectible.

Having bought a brand new FXR3 back in 99 it had no special badging or numbers etc. It did have more chrome and looked BADASS over any production Harley of that era. I did receive a plaque from HD that read ''CUSTOM MADE FOR JASON XXXXXXX(EDITED) 1999 VIN#1HD1ETL40XY951380 KEGEL MOTORCYCLE COMPANY'' AND HAD A PICTURE OF THE BIKE. Still have it(plaque) today and also own another FXR3 as I sold the first one in 2003. :soapbox:

It does not bother me that it has no tag.  I got my Bike Highly customized.  I don't  care about cost. I have No intention to sell it.
I finally got it Perfect as Possible to my Liking.  I turned my FXR4 CVO into my version of a Bagger.  I love it just Fine. Handles and Performs Very Well. I will pass it down to my Son.

Mine says FXR4 ON AIR CLEANER AND "HARLEY DAVIDSON" GHOSTED IN THE GAS TANK PAINT BUT I CAN'T GET A GOLD KEY CAUSE IT ISNT SPECIAL ENOUGH....
In my opinion my FXRD should get CVO special mention or something. Just rode it to Laughlin and back all original 31 years old two up in the rain staples still in my stomach from appendectomy
