Back up and try again. More than one question, per question.  You will not give up power by just changing to a non-cat head pipe, or I guess that is what you are asking.
Have no idea what type cores you are speaking of, or how do you get stuck on the looks of a core? Guess you mean you like a certain brand slip-on and they have 2.5" cores but you don't say that.
Try again and give a little more specific information if you can. I promise someone on here has tried whatever combo you are speaking of at one time or another.

I think he's asking are 2.5" cores okay with a catted headpipe. The answer is yes, they are not too large if you have the cat in the pipe, and you won't lose any power or torque.

But yes, if you were to put on a catless headpipe, the 2.5 cores would be too big, and even if you did additional head work, cam, etc, they would still be too big and you would lose low end tq no matter what.

They are nice looking mufflers. You will be fine running those with your OEM head pipe.  If you change out your OEM head pipe later, you will lose low end tq for sure.

A professional dyno tune will always be beneficial, even if the bike is stock since they run lean from the factory. I would use whichever tuning device your chosen tuner guy uses.

However, it would be better to do all your mods first then have it tuned, to avoid having it re-tuned each time you add something.

Having said that, if you are just doing mufflers, you will be fine if you dont get it tuned right away.
