Title: How many are still out there
Post by: Dinger1990 on May 27, 2018, 01:35:35 AM
Wondering how many of the 693 jalapeños  :jalapeno: are still going strong, and are in Canada. Mine turned over 103000 km and not stopping any time soon. It gets comments everywhere it goes.

I sold mine in 2015 with 89,000k's on the dial to a friend, and it is still rolling strong for him.  :2vrolijk_21:

My 2005 Punkin has a whopping 29K on the clock. She sits in a temp controlled shop and is covered most of the time. I have actually ridden her 3 times this year. Don't see very many of the Jalapenos anymore. They were the rarest of the SEEG's

My brotha let me help you out... it's an '04 Punkin ;) :D and finally there is a Punkin w/less miles than mine... I got you beat by 10k. :huepfenlol2: However you have ridden yours one more time than I have this season (only twice here). It's either been to damn hot or raining to get out on the bike. :(

Yes it has been. I have a few others to ride that is the ONLY reason it sits. I like to go to the shop and drink and talk to her. Just so she doesn't get mad.

Don't have others to ride as it wouldn't matter they would be sitting too. :bigcry: Every now and then I think about selling her, then I take a ride, that "good feeling" comes back again, and I decide to keep her as I know if she goes there will be no more bikes for me. :-\

Yes, there are days I wish I still had my Jalapeno.  Then when I'm missing her terribly, something like yesterday happens...
I was in my local shop and saw a '05 red SEEG with 78,000 kilometers (48,500 miles) with an asking price of $11,700.CND ($8,900.US)

I was only putting on approx. 5k per year, so I sold mine privately 2 years ago with 89,000k on the dial for $18,500.CND

That takes the sting out pretty quick.  ;D

Don't want to part with it.  The compliments go like this:  That has
to be the prettiest Harley they ever made.

Mine is a bit sick...71,000 miles. I installed some new 12'' bars, new throttle cables, longer front brake hose, new front rotors and was waiting on a longer hydraulic clutch hose to install. Thought I'd change the engine, trans and chain case oils while I had her on the lift, found metal in the engine and chain case oils. I had built the engine about 30,000 miles ago and have rode her hard, very hard. I love her but thought I'd like a newer, more fancy CVO so I looked at a 13' Electraglide CVO w/110 all stock. But it didn't compare to my built 103 so I passed on it. So I'm going to build her again, disassembly begins this weekend. Has anyone tried the ARP head studs in their H-D engine, I'm installing them this time. Thinking also about changing the triple trees and installing a larger front wheel so it will be longer. Have a look at my Lil' Red now...currently she's quite skinny but normally she's the Tri-Cherry CVO!

Still ride the Huckleberry a bit, but seem to spend more time on Ole Granny, the 94 Softtail Special these days.  Not riding long distances as before due to being older than dirt now and require the frequent comfort stops that old timers get use to......I'm even admitting to trailering  to Daytona for the last couple of years.  :'( Arrrrgh.  spyder

Around 65K

Miles really dropped after we did more RV'ing. Deb can't do rides much more than an hour at a clip and with the RV we can go anywhere, anytime.

Getting hurt and multiple shoulder surgeries also put me out of riding for over a year.

Mike she's still looking good!!! At times I think about getting rid of my "Pumpkin" then I go ride her and those thoughts end. Had the state safety inspection done this month, gave tech registration card, and when he came back he said "this really an '04?" Replied it sure is (as I chuckled inside thinking did he think I could BS the department of motor vehicles :D)... he couldn't believe it was in as good a shape as it is. The '04/'05 SEEG's are the reason the Street Glides were created and sell so well. The MoCo took note of what the aftermarket was doing creating "Draggin Baggers" and jumped in with the SEEG's and the rest as they say is history.

Yeah Gary I reckon she is enjoying retirement. I ride her a couple times each year just to cycle the gas through her. I ride Orange Crush mostly and have put more miles on it in 8 years than I did Betsy in the 11 years she was my primary ride.

Every so often I get the itch for some new iron, most recently went to Joe Carson while at the Ohio GTG just o look at a Road Glide in green. Nice bike but I don’t really want another Road Glide. I do like the look of a Street Glide ST in gray but ain’t pulled the trigger and likely won’t.
