Title: Legends Air Ride, Progressive 444 HD, Ohlins HD044, or Wernimont RS1 Shocks?
Post by: Fast FLHX on June 21, 2021, 06:32:12 PM
2020 FLHXSE and the wife said we need to change the rear shocks.  Too rough for when we do 2-up riding.  Years ago I had a set of Legends air ride and it was nice being able to lower it slammed to the ground and raise it up for touring.  I've also heard good things about Progressive and Ohlins.  So far the reviews seem to suggest a toss up between all of these.

So I guess the main question is, should I avoid any of these and is the cost premium for the Legends Air Ride worth it over the other cheaper options?

I just emailed a guy at super shox. He quoted a price of $650 for a set. Sounds like a good price. Website looks good also. I’m still debating on them or just get a set of Monroe air shocks for a $80.

I have the Ohlins on my CVO Limited, that I removed from my 2016 CVO SG, I had about a total of 34K on them and noticed there was no damping, I called Ohlins, they said they should have been serviced at 24K, so I sent them in, it was about $450.00 to rebuild them, I think maybe I will look into the Legends next time.

Nothing bad about the ride, big difference from stock

I ended up going with the RS-1 Shocks.  They have blemished shocks that are perfectly functional at a discount.  I'll give a ride report once I get them on.
