Hello everyone,

After lurking on this board for the past month or so, I've made the plunge and am now a CVO owner. I've just purchased an '07 Springer. Now for the ice to clear off of the driveway so that I can hit the streets!

So what does one say in an intro? I live in the western 'burbs of Chicago. I started riding motorcycles when I was 8 years old. My first bike was a hand built mini-bike with a 4hp Briggs and Stratton engine! There was no suspension on that bike....does that make me the youngest hard-tail owner/rider on record?? Through the years I have rode and owned more bikes than I care to count of both the on and off rode variety.

My new Springer is now sitting alongside my customized '02 Road King Classic. I love my Road King for those long rides (rode from Chicago to Sturgis once in 14 hours!) but I have wanted a "smaller" bike for the shorter hops. I've always thought that the Springer was a gorgeous bike....but the CVO Springer, in my opinion, kicks the bike into the stratosphere. Even my wife, who has become somewhat jaded with my mechanical tinkerings, thinks the bike is awesome. The Road King stays, and the Springer will get used between me and my wife (she rides too).

By the way, this board rocks! Attached is a photo of my Road King. I'll get a picture of my Springer posted soon after the weather breaks.

Hello Skippy,

Would you please keep me posted on your upgrades? I've already got the SERT for the bike, and am now looking into pipes and possible cams. Do you have specifics on your parts selections yet?

To all you others with OCD:
Thanks for the positive response on my Road King. After 2 seasons of riding her pretty much stock, I completely tore the bike apart. That was the winter of 2003/2004, I had a bad case of cabin fever! During that time, my wife was very stealth in her enablement of my OCD....she had taken on a temporary part time job and had squirreled away all the money from that job to buy me chrome. Have I yet mentioned that she is an awesome woman? That Christmas, and my birthday which is 2 weeks later, there were boxes of chrome. I transformed my black Road King into a two-toned color combo......black AND chrome! Of course I went overboard by dismantling the bike to the level that I did....and my wife did freak out when she saw just a frame and an engine at one point in the rebuild.....What can I say, I'm sick!!

This may be a bit off topic, but as long as I am introducing myself I may as well divulge the true extent of my OCD. Attached is my '56 Cadillac Coupe DeVille....it is another way that I proudly display my OCD.

Hey Dan - that would be cool. There should be a small posse of us (on UK bikes hopefully). We are expecting that HOG will throw a party at the end of August to commemorate HOG's 25th anniversary, plus HD will be celebrating it's 105th.

A Great Big CVO Welcome here and real nice looking rides you have already before succumbing to the CVO bug. I love that your wife and you both and interchange your bikes at will. My bike has been customized so much to fit me that my husband would never want to ride it, nor I his. We do have though a Road King that we can both ride, it has been put back a little closer to stock, but still lowered. Waiting for the Chicago streets dry up a bit and we can see picks of your new toy.
