Greetings from Maine newbie
« on: March 09, 2007, 03:16:24 PM »

I wanted to introduce myself.  This is a phenomenal site with a wealth of knowledge and very giving people.  I commend all of you.  I have learned so much about my baby, the 2005 SEEG baby that is. Thank you Jacques and Fired00d for the previous welcome.

My 2005 SEEG is bone stock (except for the battery tender--great invention).  My wife has already informed me that she wants a more comfortable seat, so that will probably be the first change. First ride just last weekend  (she's also talking about a bike for herself--I keep pointing out RoadGlides).

Welcome Seegmon,

Beautiful bike.  Having the snow for a background really makes the colors stand out.  :2vrolijk_21:

We're glad to have you as part of the family.

Weird question Neal. Maine is Maine is Maine is Maine buddy. You might have one storm in the mountains with not much on the coast, but you can bet the farm the next one's gonna bury the coast and miss the mountains. Mother nature thinks Maniacs love the chit so she makes sure she's real fair about spreadin it around. Oh yeah buddy, I really miss it. It's 78 and gorgeous here. I'm headed out on Elvis

Thanks all for the warm welcome.

Naitram-Live in Saco, southern Maine coast, have to feed the older addiction as often as I can, wave riding.  Not much this season.  So with spring and summer coming (which means no waves in Maine), I get to feed the new addiction with my SEEG baby.

Spiderman, my Maine bro.  Actually, were SD bros, because Im a CA boy, moved to New England from San Diego for just one year.  That was 20 years ago, never left.  I know, I know, there's something sick about leaving paradise.  But, Maine is the cold paradise.  I am working my way back in the next 1-2 years, back to Leucadia.   (that Elvis is something else-talk about unique but keeping the CVO spirit-wow)

Right now the bike is in the shop.  Had it shipped from the dealership in upstate NY, Federal, they damaged it, picture below. Unfortunately, I was out of town the day they delivered it, had a friend accept it who missed the damage.  Company denied responsibility, because not noted on delivery invoice.  I talked to a reasonable claim adjuster, she agreed to pay for half of the $800 bill.  I thought I was going to get stuck with the whole thing, but the damage was obviously done by them as the dealer had taken pictures before shipment.  If the dealer had insisted on 25,400 instead of 25K, I would have given it to him, so its a wash for me, shoot, I just love the bike.

Anyway, the HD dealer is doing free dyno runs, I asked them to do mine while in the shop and now I will have some baseline numbers.  Without this site, I wouldnt even know what a dyno run is.  Thanks again.

Hey SEEGMON
MON  hmmmm  are you really Jamaican ?   cool whatever  Next time you see an 03 SERK, check out the seat. Most comfortable H-D seat ever made excepting the Road Blimp or whatever it's called. Beagle's got one of them - - -Damn Barcolounger strapped to his bike is what it is. Sorry about the damage to your bike. Real bummer. As far as Elvis is concerned, the picture on my avatar is rather dated. Check out the ride report section there's some pics of the Big E on a couple of threads. I'm totally useless when it comes to this electronic chit. Also according to Big Daddy, my laptop is missing some software for downloading pics. Anyway, stay in touch, when you get back out here to Dago, me and Beags will meet you at the Kraken for a beer.

;) A Great Big CVO Welcome to you, enjoy the site.  Sorry about the shipping damage. Really glad to hear that the company stepped at least half way up to the plate and paid for half the damage.   :huepfenjump3:

Seegmon, welcome aboard and good to see you have been taking notes on the dyno info etc.

Hope your paint thing works out OK, bummer to start off that way but good excuse for anything you need to add in the tail end when the fender is off :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks again all for the warm welcome.

Spiderman-Thanks also for the tip on the seat, I will check that out.  As far as your scoot goes, I did find pics in the ride section.  That seat and those bags, now thats stylin.  Elvis is rock and roll.  I must say, you are an astute observer.  The seeg-mon thing, yes, you hit it right on the head.  I'm not Jamaican.  My best bud is a Jamaica man, his mom was like my second mom growing up, so the Jamaican accent thing is always in my head.  Kraken it is, and I look forward to reminiscing on how the Maine weather leaves something to be desired.
