Watts in your headlight?
« on: August 04, 2009, 08:23:20 PM »

I want to put a brighter bulb in my headlight.  What is the best and brightest headlight I can install without upgrading wiring or going HID?  I'd also like to install passing lamps in the fatboy, anyone do this?  How does it look?  Should I be concerned with overloading electric system in any way? Thanks

I use this one and it's great.

     Dual Bulb Halogen Headlamp Kit

The Dual Bulb Halogen Headlamp features advanced reflector optics and separate bulbs for high and low beam functions. The euro-inspired projector beam styling combines a state-of-the-art look with a CAD designed faceted reflector bowl that is optimized for crisp patterns and light cut-off. The single upper bulb functions in low beam, and both upper and lower bulb operate in high beam. The low beam setting produces a wide curb-to-curb light pattern, and the high beam adds focused light down the center of the lane without compromising width. Kit includes housing, 55-watt low beam halogen lamp, 35-watt high beam halogen lamp and all necessary mounting hardware. Does not meet ECE regulations.

67864-04A

Fits '94-later Electra Glide®, Road King® and Trike models, and '94-later FL Softail® models equipped with Chrome Headlight Nacelle Kit P/N 67907-96B. Kit includes mounting ring assembly.

MSRP US $164.95

I too am looking to do this and am having a hard time finding the H-8 and H-11 replacement bulbs. Anyone tried the
H-D upgrade Bulbs?

PIAA Xtreme Whites on the PL's! Pretty close match to the white HID! ;)

I know the PL's are hard to deal with due to the size, but I did try the PIAA's in the headlamp, before going to HID, and they don't hold a candle. No pun intented. Certainly I thought they were a little better than stock, but before and after pics I took and posted in the SED forum were PIAA's and the difference was dramatic!
