Rinehart Slip-ons
« on: January 31, 2006, 11:53:18 PM »

Just ordered the Rinehart slip-ons...hopefully will get within a week.  Decided to sacrifice a few HP so as to be able to return to full stock easily if the emissions testing gets to be an issue here in the DFW area.  Call me a wimp, but I love the looks of the black tips to complement the black/slate.  Also waiting for the Big Sucker redesign (by end of Feb. accd. to Ness). Then PC or RT and dyno tune.  Gettin' there!

Hey txbear, where are you located in DFW?  Seems like we discussed this before, but OF's disease has struck again.  I work in FTW and live just west of town.  My black/slate is scheduled to ship Feb 8.  Lets get together and ride and compare paint.  Did you buy your bike locally?

GC,  I live in Rowlett on Lake Ray Hubbard (Between Garland and Rockwall).  I picked the bike up at Red River HD in Iowa Park.  I would love to connect with you sometime soon to check out the bikes.  Maybe a day ride to swing out southwest to the Glen Rose and beyond area.  Let us know when the Blessed Event occurs!     Barry

Barry, I 'll give you a holler.  Lots of good riding and BBQ in Glenrose area. Ever been to the Loco Coyotye?  Pretty cool place. Lots of bikes there sometimes.

Pipes are on!  Definitely not a quiet pipe!  Deep authoratitive sound.  Black tips go great with the black & charcoal paint.  Yeah, I know....worthless without a pic!  Hell, I can't even do a smiley "_"

TxBear, where did you order the Rineharts from?  I have a Haze ordered for late March delivery and I am thinking about slip ons instead of true duals.

I live in Plano.  Maybe we can hook sometime.

If you and GRC are looking for BBQ, Hard 8 in Stephanville is super, a little longer ride is Coopers in Llano.

Anybody seen Rinehart's new slip-ons with the Eagle Beek end caps. They're pretty cool - especially on an SE. Check out their ad in this months American Iron. 8-)

Ezrider4,
I have looked through American Iron (March) and couldn't find the Rinehart add you described.  Do you know what page it is on?

J & P has them in their current catalogue, pg 169.  Got to be a better price somewhere else, but at least you can see them.

are the rhinehart slip ons the same ones that come with the true dual set up?
so they mount right up to the stock header pipes?
i remember reading somewhere that they would not fit the stock headers because of some step up system.
i wonder how they would work with my bassani headers.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, kng103,
Can't say they will fit stock Header pipes.  You should try the "Hillbilly Horsepower" boost, OTIS came up with.  Block off your stock Y-pipe (left-hand side) with a small-block Chrevrolet freeze plug, with a 1/4" hole drilled in the middle, and seal it off with JB-Weld.  "Hillbilly" 2 into 1!  Pick up about 8-12 Horsepower!  It works!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] OTIS busted my Hopped-Up 95" so bad with that little trick, I put a 120" Air Pump in Ol' Maudie!"  Cost me a pile of $$!  Of course, the A$$hole didn't tell me, 'till I had already pulled the trigger!  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] Later--HUBBARD

Pana-guy,  Loud enough that I may go to ear plugs on extended trips.  However, at 70+ it settles down some or maybe just the wind gets too loud!  I always ease out of the neighborhood to minimize bad PR.  As far as performance, I have not installed A/C yet  and dyno tuned, but will post when I do...May be a few weeks off.  Without a dyno shootout it will be hard to say what pipe is the best of the slip ons.  And like most, I am getting some decel popping since I'm running a little lean (plugs don't look bad, though).

i happen to know a couple of people whove done that with good success.
it like a home made thunderheader!! ;)
hub, you are running the rineharts aint you?
i wonder if the slip ons are the exact same with the ones that come with the true dual set up?
i thought i read somewhere that the tube size is different from the stockers, so the mufflers wouldnt fit.
your thoughts?
King, the Rinehart slip ons are 1.75" and will fit any OEM size header, wheras the Rinehart true dual mufflers are 2.00" and will fit only their headers as they increase in size towards the rear.

There seems to be a lot of DFW folks comparing their Black Ice SERK's.  Well...., add me to your list.  My Black Ice is due in around the middle of December.  I'd love to hook up with everyone to share your learned knowledge.  Beside, how kewl would it be to put together a ride with five or six '07 SERK's?
