Which Plugs ????????????

I am hearing different stories about what plugs to run. Should i run the double platinum, gold plugs or OEM plugs. Also what should i gap them to. This is on an 06 SE FatBoy. Thanks guys.

Don't believe all the spark plug hype... stick w/OEM and check/change them as needed.

Standard Harley plugs, HD-6R12
Gap .040"  (.038-.043)
Installation Torque - 15 ft-lbs

All the other claims for increased power, mileage, etc. are basically marketing hype.  The one legitimate claim is increased service life with platinum or iridium electrodes.  Unless you plan to run your plugs 50,000 miles, I don't see that as a compelling reason to spend two or three times as much per plug.  If you're like the typical Harley rider, you'll be changing them yearly, so don't waste the money.

And if someone does go for some long service life plug do yourself a favor and with some regularity loosen the plug a turn or so and retighten.  Plugs seizing to aluminum heads is not a good thing.
