Baffle size
« on: September 07, 2013, 12:13:23 PM »

I see different baffle size on slip on mufflers. If I understand it correctly the larger the baffle size the louder the muffler. Does anyone know the baffle size for the stock mufflers on the 2013  cvo ultra. If I drill out the plug would it then be comparable in sound to other slip ons of the same size. Last question anyone on this forum drill out their plug and then regret doing it due to the quality of the sound? Thanks for your response in advance.

I can tell you first hand the results from drilling out baffles. Both on Scream Eagle Bagger Pipes and Stock CVO Brakeout Pipes. They take on a popping sound, on acceleration. Let me be clear they sound terrible. As bad as stock sounds its better than drilled out.
Im just guessing but i think its got to do with the small exit size of the pipe.
