Heat Wrap
« on: November 28, 2006, 08:20:51 AM »

I just finished putting heat wrap on the entire length of the rt manifold as well as the crossover.  For those that feel the heat, this has made a huge difference.
The product comes in 1 or 2 inch widths of 50 feet.  I used the 2 inch black which blends in nicely with the frame.   It took about 2 hours and cost about $50 which includes 4  stainless hose clamps.  You can secure the wrap using the heat shield clamps and supplement with the extra clamps where needed.  Don't be surprised  when in the first 20 minutes of use you see smoke.  It doesn't last long and will not reoccur.      As an added bonus, the literature claims the retention of heat in the pipes increases performance.
