Why is it that these writers always state right off the bat if the person was wearing a helmet or not? Just always stirring the pot and it really takes away from the real stories here of who passed away and finding the person who caused it

I did not look at the comment section but I will bet 75% of the comments deal with wearing a helmet

They may have been riding together but I doubt they were friends... I don't know one guy I've ever ridden with who would pull a stunt like that then leave the scene. I read the comments below the article - one guy posting sure has issues with motorcyclists. Didn't realize I was such a miscreant! Our local paper always mentions helmet use, no helmet, or if they don't know sometimes that is stated. That always brings up the topic of how riders without helmets are a menace to society and a drag on medical facilities. The non-riding public must think we're all uninsured and homeless or something...
