Can you feel around while it is rattling & identify where it is coming from on the windshield? It should not be that hard to figure out what to do to fix it once you identify the source I wouldn't think.

My 14 CVO RK does the same thing.  For now, speeding up a little is what I do. I like the windshield....above 35 mph.  :-[

Which part of the vent assembly is actually rattling?  Is it the adjustable vane, or the housing?  Depending on where the rattle is actually originating, you may be able to make a little modification to eliminate it.  Foam tape, thin shims, hard to say without having one in front of me to play with.  Six screws hold it in place (see attached drawing) plus a tape gasket (item 12).

Yup.  And what do you think the typical Harley dealership will tell him about his noisy windshield?  I'm betting on either "They all do that", or "There's no way to fix that", or the best one "It's supposed to be that way".

Sad, but all too true.

Still the squeaky wheel or in this case windscreen gets the grease.  Escalate to the HD regional make nice person.  Make it their problem not yours.  Have them confirm their replies in writing. They hate to memorialize anything.

I think it's a vibration issue due to the way it mounts, not very tight. In this case wouldn't surprise if "they all do it"= poor design.

That's often the case with Harley.  If they truly "ALL" do it, then you can usually assume a lousy design.  However, if only some do it, it could be a combination of lousy design and poor quality/tolerance stackup issues.

If it's kind of loose after it's all sandwiched together and the screws are tightened, that's where I would take it apart and add material to remove the slop.  Perhaps doubling up on the mounting tape, or some thin foam tape?

I don't dislike the vent, but the only thing I've found it really good for is scooping up bugs to hit you in the face with.

Yeah... it rattles, it's a goofy little windshield attached by a couple rubber grommets to a BIG shaking old fashioned motor I looked at it on the showroom floor and said to myself that is gonna be one rattling mofo if I buy it... And it was I just ignore it & enjoy it for what it is, a pretty cool windshield that does a darn good job for how little it is

At low speeds and stops, I am to busy trying to keep my Zumo from rattling of the bars to notice the if the windshield is rattling. I will try to pay more attention.
