Braided stainless fuel crossover
« on: June 19, 2009, 05:25:46 PM »

Anybody have thoughts or experiences with Harleys braided stainless steel fuel crossover line. I just had mine break and when I went to the dealer for another one they said they don't have any and won't order one because they have had alot of problems with them in the past. I found one at another dealer that looks like it's been sitting in the back for ten years or more. Just alittle confused over a dealer not jumping at the chance to take $ from me. Certainly not used to that.

I've never used that line on my own bikes though have put it on for a few buddies I can think of who have had no problem.  I do something else though.  Either regular or braided line.  A hose clamp at the tank end.  Cut in two in the middle with a quick coupler installed.  The quick disconnect without draining or otherwise messing with fuel makes it a less than ten minute chore to get most tanks off.

I got one for my CUSE2 off ebay, with the chrome faux end caps, and quick disconnect in the middle. Looked and worked great, and made it extra simple to remove the tank.  I wouldn't go for the MoCo one, because it lacks the quick disconnect, and third party ones are cheaper anyway (no surprise there!)

Have had one on my WG2 for a little over a year now and haven't had any problems.

And a second quick disconnect to drain the tanks with when desired....   :2vrolijk_21:
