I was told that they may be introducing LED headlamps for the Road Glide at this meeting as a new accessory?  Anyone else hear anything like that?

I had the headlamp and passing lamps on my CUSE, I think I paid about $700 or so, I would gladly....well maybe not gladly, but I would pay that for my RG to have better lighting plus they look awesome!  The 7" without a discount I think is $420, and I'm guessing that becasue they would have to sell them as a set they will price them under $600?  I'm sure they will modify them in some way, no way could you run two headlamps equal to the 7" that they sell without pissing oncoming traffic off!

Just wondering if anyone has heard what new products are coming out of the meetings this week?

I was told to expect something new in the Sportster and Softail line-ups, but nothing about any CVO's.

Does anyone have any exciting news to share?

No, I heard it was a panhead kit...but it will only fit a softtail with a trike kit.  Pretty solid info...it came from a guy that knows a guy that lives next door to a guy that worked with a guy that once had the grass cutting contract at my local HD dealer.

You need to do a site search for "pool boy."  That guy has been a true source of amazing information for years.  And, like so many other sources, rumors and stopped clocks, he'll eventually be right too!

Not just use it.  In a "retro blast from the past HD will offer for the Goldwing conversion kit the 'Screamin' Eagle Lubrication Recycling System' offering chrome plated brass fittings with specially calibrated weep orifices to control critical leaks to a stylish level and combine them with an engine vacuum collection system that automatically redeposits the stylishly dispensed fluids back in the crankcase."

(note: This kit requires use of SE vacuum system HEPA filter replacement every 90 days or 200 miles.  Filter kit 1245349714 at $219.99 or three pack 1245349714-3 for $529.99.)

Next week?  If they do, I wonder if we would be able to organize a group order and get a good discount?  Several members talk about some women at a dealership that offers 20% off on parts with excellent service?  10-20 sets would be a pretty good order it it all comes about to reality?

Harley have joined the high bar arms race with a heavy-flake, peanut-tanked, white-walled, classic chopper with ape-hangers: another parts bin special from the company with the parts bin that keeps on giving.  in black denim or blue pearl, but the Big Red Flake is the show-off of the range.

To each his own.....New Bern HD called me the other day...they had a blue/black SERG. Knowing how much I like those colors I had to check it out. 34K out the door for a black motor, few chrome goodies, no lowers, no tour pack....I passed but like I said....to each his own :nixweiss:

You have to smile at a couple of the new touring parts though, especially the catch that lines up the lid of the tourpak when you close it!   :D  Pay extra to get what fixes their sloppy manufacturing?  I don't think so!  :orange:

And the harness that allows you to have your passing lamps on when you are on full beam?  $29.95 to do what you can do at no cost in 15 minutes or less...  The ripoffs get worse.  >:(

Yawn.  Another Sporty (how many do they have now?) and a Crossboned Fat Boy-Slim.  X2 on the parts bin manufacturing.  As the police say to passing motorists at traffic accidents.."nothing to see here, keep moving."  Maybe I have unrealistic expectations, but there really hasn't been anything since the introduction of the SG that lit my candle (excluding the CVOs).

Hey MoCo, here's my two cents:  offer the SG in something other than a solid color (yeah I know you have a couple of two tone paint jobs every year)...how about some stripes like the RG....how about extended saddle bags, a different HD logo on tank, maybe try some bullet style passing lamps...

CHIT!  You would think that they would at least come up with a new bezel or mount that would fit the 7" LED they sell which would be less expensive than engineering a special lamp for the RG!  They have seen the numbers and popularity of the RG increase, sure it's minicule compared to the amount of batwings in circulation, but if you take into account the bullchit they make that doesn't sell?  WTF, I want these and I was really sold on the rumor they were coming! :soapbox:

Have to watch out for the voices.  They do sound so real sometimes.

Also, 7" light wouldn't fit in the Road Glide headlight area.

Cyclops?  That would be something to consider with an LED????  I think the lamp they use on the RG is not completely round, I think its got an odd oblong shape so it fits?  That may be the issue, its exclusive?

Twolanerider - I'm really disappointed - it just doesn't make sense that Harley or another vendor has not come out with a LED light for the Road Glide. The HID are better but I want a true LED with the proper reflectors and such. I guess I need to regroup and look for an alternative way to get one done.
