Just bought a 2014 cvo road king and do not like the seat thinking of trying a corbin solo close, has anyone had any experience with this seat?? any and all comments appreciated.Also is there any convenient place for the battery tender hookup? hate to keep pulling the side cover off.

I had Corbin build a dual tour close and the wife and I love it. Much more comfortable and I was able to roll the bars a little forward which is much more comfortable for me. We can do 8 hour days without a problem. The only thing I don't like is the rider backrest it too thick to use when she is on the bike. When they do the backrest it is about 2 inches thicker than a standard to make up for your new position. I kind of like her snuggled up against my back though! As far as the lead for the battery tender I have mine coming out over the transmission under the seat right above the starter and just tuck it back up in once unplugged.

I have a Corbin solo with backrest. The seat is very comfortable but the backrest sucks. you can only adjust it forward or backward and when you do the angle changes and digs into your back. I took my Mustang backrest and made a tongue to weld to the Mustang tongue and slide into the Corbin. Works great as it moves with you. Billy

While I run the factory seat modified on my CVORK, on my CVO Road Glides I have been running the corbin solo. I have just over 50K miles on the seat in three years and it still looks great. Just replaced the Hammock seat on my CVORGU with this corbin. I highly reccomend corbin, the back rest takes work to get it right.

My battery tender is routed just below the seat, in the gap above the oil filler. I have changed it to a optimate type though

Interesting idea with the backrest! Any pictures please of this

That's one thing I noticed with the corbin also that the backrest doesn't swivel like the mustang does and when I sat on a gunfighter seat the backrest top edge dug right into my back.
However if you are using a mustang backrest surely the vinyl covering will not match the leather seat or maybe it's not to noticeable, thinking of getting a classic solo for my bike soon, just deciding between the classic solo or gunfighter seat.

Love my Corbin seats one on my CUSE2 and my KTM525 dualsport. Yes that's right Corbin even makes Em for dirt bikes.

Have used various Optimate models over the last 10 years, never had an issue, always hooked upto the bike when in the garage. Generally a good bit of kit. And it works with the canbus on my 14

Just received a Corbin seat for my 2015 RGU, it does not fit correctly and hard as a rock. Corbin insist it is the correct seat and will not fix it. Their customer service sucks, very condescending, this is my second seat from them first one was great. I will never buy their product again and suggest you look at a different brand.

I was thinking about a Corbin as well, but I'm not sure about the close version. I already feel like I'm too close to the tank and bars. As for the charging plug. The dealer sold me the bike with mine hanging out the bottom of the left side cover. It seems like there is a cutout for it and you can hardly see it. A little close to the pipe, but I have a ghost pipe on that side now, so there is no concern for heat. With a functioning pipe and muffler on that side I would definitely tuck it up inside the cover after winter's end.

I have Corbin Solo Tour and love it. Brought me back a few inches so I can stretch out on bike. I have backrest too. You can adjust angle or allow it to swivel by adjusting pivot point screw in actual backrest. Lower pivot point screw pushes backrest forward or backward. Check out attachment. Corbin should do a video showing how to adjust.

Can you please confirm billy if this is as the drawing shows ,as you have I believe the corbin solo, which I am thinking of getting also (it's only the lack of backrest adjustment that's putting me off)
Does then the backrest indeed let you adjust it both in rake adjustment and tilt of the backrest pad,ie two way adjustment like mustangs do?
As I thought the lower set screw under the flap was only for securing the backrest post to the seat frame and didn't allow any adjustment,

Very Interesting. I have never seen this. I am sure going to take my seat off and see if I can move it forward like the drawing. Will be a few week until I get chance to check this out, but can't wait.

Drawing is correct for my Corbin backrest. Tilt upper part of backrest fully forward to access small Allen screw.

It is winter in Chicago so bike is in storage. I apologize for the bad pictures. Rotate top pivot fully forward to access upper pivot screw. Make's all the difference in the world being able to position where it is comfortable.

I just installed a new classic solo on my SERG and I don't have the different length screw adjustment. I recall I did have this feature on my dual tour for the SEEG. Seems it's not available on all models.

That explains why I never noticed it on my solo. Was hoping it was there and I just missed it. Sure seems like it should have it.

That's a real shame on the adjustment on the solo,
What the hell is wrong with corbin? Why develop a two way adjustment on a backrest which is necessity if you ask me , but then only adopt it on certain models of seat!!

Everytime I speak with corbin I have found them rude and unhelpful , no company no matter how big should get complacent, seems every customer who has had a reasonable experience with them ,there are 10 people who haven't ! That shouldn't be the case , Now mustang for example are the total opposite,never heard of bad customer support from them, I have had 5 mustangs over the years , last year I had a slight issue with the fitment of one , I spoke to them and they sent me out a brand new seat ,I live in UK and they paid for all the shipping import duties etc without any hassle at all and they didn't even want the faulty one back!........now that's what I call great customer service

. No guesses what corbin would have done in a similar situation!,
Ah well might just look at mustangs day tripper with backrest or has anyone had any experience with le pera outcast seat for comfort or indeed their maverick seat,,,, just fancyed a change

Corbin seats are great, I have probably hade around 8 of them for different bikes in my past. A good seat is supposed to be rock hard, not soft.

Unfortunately their customer service sucks with a bunch of arrogant idiots manning the phones most of the time.
