Title: CAUTION PAINT ON FORK STOPS

Be careful when locking the front forks  the frame comes into contact with the fork stops .I noticed this the first day I had the bike.. I placed two small rubber disk on the frame to prevent any paint to paint contact... years ago you buy a stainless steel kit that you glued onto the frame and fork that prevented this from happening has anyone seen that in any of the catalogues... tks skippy

Have never seen a fork stop frame protector for a Springer as they have a different fork stop than all other Softails.  Have used ones from Rick Doss on other Softails to protect the paint on the frame and to limit fork turn to provide extra clearance for large tanks.

Well OK - remember I bought the Copper One !!
I put a couple of brand new pennies on the frame where it hits
Looks kinda neat actually !!
Also - I have the bars swiveled down farther than normal and needed the extra 1/2 inch out at the tips of the bars at full lock to keep from hitting the tank

I will out do Beerman when I get paid next week ,I am getting two shiny dimes and a tube of glue ha ha ha.  PS took Beerman advice on exhaust yesterday pulled the baffles out and did a little metal work with the Dewalt and an 18 inch 5/8 drill bit what a difference this made it sounds a whole lot better and seems to be runing cooler... tks for the info on the torx tamper proof. skippy

Altugo if you are rideing aFatboy you may not have a problem with fork stops , on the springer forks their are two tabs that touch the frame when the front end is turned all the way in either direction  thus making the paint on both surfaces rub or chip off...  by the way tell beerman I got paid , he will understand.... tks skippy

Thanks for the info.

I went to Lowes and got a package of those black 1" round rubber feet you stick on the bottom of chair legs.  Works OK on my black frame.  Might not look as good on the CVO's.
