Title: Floorboard relocate
Post by: us1fountain on October 21, 2016, 08:06:02 PM
Anyone have the relocate kits to move the riders floorboards outwards only? Not wanting them forward any. Ran across some that fit 16' CVO SG, just not sure if they fit the '17's. Is it just the CVO's that have different floorboard frame mounts, or all redesigned for '17?  My feet always feel like they are on the edge and have slipped off when hitting a bump.

Thanks

I had the extension kit from VtwinGoodies (formerely HarleyGoodies) on my 2012 CVO Ultra.  Took them off when I traded for my 2017 CVO Limited and they fit it just fine.  Don't know who manufactured those you refer to but if they fit the 2016 CVO SG I think they will probably fit your 2017.

Don't recall brand off hand. They were a solid oval shaped spacer with dowel pin.

Thanks

Received the extensions tonight and installed them.  So much better.  Feet are no longer resting on the edge of the floorboards awaiting for that bump in the rod to slip off.

I received and installed the floorboard extensions from VtwinGoodies and I haven't figured out why it has took me so long to get them. It is so much more comfortable now.

Just put mine on as well, much more of a useable area now and is much easier to clean with the extra space. Great improvement for $60!

Liking them so far!  Wouldn't have minded if they would have moved the floorboards forward an inch too.

I have had the extensions for years and love them.  Only concern is scrapping the boards more often especially with my bike having a front & rear lowering kit.  I have to watch cornering sometimes, but the comfort of my feet being firmly on the boards is well worth it.  :2vrolijk_21:

Just got a set of extensions for rider and passenger for my 17 CVO Limited from Tom at VTwinGoodies. Have had these on three previous CVOs. Hard to ride without them. Great product, great service!

By the way, put about 2000 km on my new 114 Milwaukee Eight CVO until it was parked for the winter. Handling, stock power much better than any previous CVO including my last 2015 CVO Road Glide Ultra. The shark-nose was great, but still prefer the batwing. Very quiet 114 motor and very quiet drivetrain. Almost un-Harley like.

The problem is that when you go into a corner and drag youll wreck. The stock floorboard is hinged so it can drag a little and fold up. With the extensions youll drag the support arm and wish you hadnt put them on. Several of us know from that lesson!

Just push the bike to the right and hang to the left. ;D That is if you're really comin into the corners hot. Just don't do that with the wife on the back. ::)

Ummm, If you check videos of racers you'll see that they hang in the direction of the turn - not the opposite.  Hanging into the turn moves the center of gravity and the motorcycle does not have to lean as much to navigate the turn.  Hanging opposite the turn requires more lean for the motorcycle to navigate the turn.  The best course of action for 'normal' rider is to just stay upright and in line with the motorcycle.

Kinda a odd question but are these spacers the same for left and right? I installed a vance & hines header on my 2017 and it came with an inch spacer for the right side only "to clear the exhaust". I havery the foot falling off feel and don't want to have to buy both sides if I don't have to, to space out the left side and v&h said they could sell me just the right side pieces again

Thank u for the response! I got to looking online and ordered a full set. you would think for the money and knowing the people they are selling to, they would include both sides and make it your choice to do one side or both.

I am looking to move my floorboards forward and up at the toe and down at the heel, is there any such kit or maker out there that someone can recommend?
