Title: 2013 SEUC, IGNITION SWITCH KNOB PROBLEM

I removed the ignition switch knob from my 2013 SEUC in order to access the handle bar clamp so I could reposition the handle bars.
When I went to replace the knob I screwed up and the power lock wire (green wire) that runs down through the switch knob broke right where it comes out of the inside of the switch knob mechanism. (See attached photo).
Has anyone had this happen to them and if so, were you able to take the mechanism apart and reattach the green wire?
Any advise is greatly appreciated.

I also had the problem on my 11 CVO Ultra. It was replaced under factory warranty. Looking up the receipt the part# 45600001 listed for $415.85.
I believe this is the same lock as yours & I don't think it is serviceable. Surdyke has the power ignition lock for MSRP 435.64, discount price is 330.87.

Does the wire that broke only control the front fork power lock or does it have to be connected for the entire power lock system to function? In other words, will the fob still lock the bags and tour Pak with this wire not connected?
That's a lot of money for just being able to remotely lock the forks.

That's a lot of money for just being able to remotely lock the forks.

When I had issues with those wires on my '11.5 the bag locks continued to function but the fork lock worked intermittently. I must add that the wires on my switch weren't completely severed like yours. Lucky for me my ESP paid for a new switch.

I had exact same problem on my '12 and ESP covered it.  I cannot say with absolute certainty but I do not think the broken wire on the ignition switch would affect the locks on the bags or tour pak.  I have on occasion had one of the connectors to a bag not fully seated and bag would not lock . . . but the other bag and the tour pak would.

Take a close look at that switch and see if it has screws holding it together, or some kind of non-removable fasteners. 
My point is, if it's assembled with removable fasteners like screws, it can be repaired.  It may not be easy, and I've never found a schematic of the interior of one of those switches, but I would guess a good mechanic with some basic common sense would be able to take it apart, run a new wire, and then put it all back together.  OR, for over four hundred bucks I think I'd just go back to locking the forks the old fashioned and more reliable way (with a key).

The old fashioned way of locking the forks is good enough for me.
The part that the wire comes out of appears to be non-removable.
Remote locking of the bags and tour pac are not effected by the fork lock wire being disconnected.
